Carseat on Plane Question

I am considering buying a Cosco Scenera 5 pt. harness carseat for a plane trip I am taking with my 2 1/2 year old. I have googled and read that LOTS of people use this one on planes because it's so light weight to carry and easy to fit in the seats. My question is about some things I read said it prevents the child from being able to use the tray table. Has anyone used this particular carseat on a plane and had that issue? I can't understand why that would happen, but we will definilty need the tray for activities I have planned to keep...

Hi all - I am hoping that your good advice will help me make an educated decision! We are leaving for vacation soon and need to buy a second car seat for the plane ride and need one that will also be comfortable for a 2-3 hour drive from Orlando to Naples.
