Q Re: Angel Care Sleep Monitors

I am about to get an Angel Care sleep monitor and I've heard mostly great things about it. My only concern is that during the summer months my hubby and I have fans going in our bedroom and sometimes even the A/C. I've heard that the monitor is so sensative that even a fan blowing at the crib can register as baby movement and so defeats the purpose. Has anyone else had this experience and if so how do you deal with the hot summer months? I want to keep my baby cool and I don't want to sweat to death, either! I was thinking perhaps we...

First Time Parents - Are SIDS Alarms Necessary?

We are new parents to a healthy, baby boy, 9 days old now. The OB nurses have mentioned "SIDS" so often that my husband and I are completely freaked out. I have looked up SIDS monitors (Angel Care) and read the reviews. They vary from great, a life saver, to don't bother. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Anxiety About Baby in Nursery

My little one started sleeping longer blocks a few nights ago, so I moved her into the nursery. If she stays in my room with me, she will just wake me up with her little sleep noises, and I really need sleep! The first night I moved her, I woke up after about 5.5 hours of sleep in a full on panic: is she dead! I checked on her, and of course she was just sleeping. Then last night I woke up in a panic again. I remember feeling this way when I moved my son into the nursery. He was a terrific sleeper, doing 7.5 hours at 5 weeks. What I...

I Don't Care About Sleeping Through the Night... Just Go to Sleep 1St Please!

My 7 week old baby only likes to go to sleep on me. I'm so afraid that I am building a bad habit. I can put him in his crib once he is asleep. But, he has to really be asleep. There have been a few occasions where I have been able to put him in his bed as he was drifting off to sleep. At first I was very opposed to the cry it out techniques. Then, I decided to try it out of desparation. I don't want to co-sleep with my baby. I don't think that the cry it out technique is going to work for us because he will cry for over an hour. I...

Baby Wont Sleep on Back

My infant will not sleep on her back! I have a three year old boy who always slept on his back, as per doctor recommendations these days (SIDS risk reduction). Now I have just had a baby girl, she is two months old, and absolutley refuses to sleep on her back. She doesnt even really like spending awake time on her back very much. I have tried elevating her head, lulling her in my arms then putting her to sleep on her back, even putting her on her side with a 'wedge' to keep her in place. She is a very calm, good baby, normal, healthy,...

Baby Turning over and Sleeping on His stomach...Safe?

Hi Moms. My four month old son just learned out to turn over on his own. Tonight he turned completely over as I watched him from my video monitor. I waited to see if he would start crying but he continued to sleep. I checked on him and noticed eventhough he is sleeping on his belly his head is turned to the side allowing him to breathe. I have a BeBe Angel Care Monitor which alerts me if he stops breathing but I'm still worried about SIDS and other things. I tried putting back on his back but he keeps turning over. Well tonight, for...
