Reaction to Albuterol

Hello, Mamas! I need some feedback. Our 3 year old son has asthma issues only when he has a respiratory illness. During those time, we have successfully given him his albuterol inhaler as a daily treatment for the wheezing and coughing until the illness subsides and he no longer needs it. That lasts maybe a week at the most. It's been over 10 months since the last time he had to use the inhaler, and we had to use it last night. However, within about 5 minutes, he started itching on his legs like crazy and the left side of face got...

Always Stuffy Nose

My 2 1/2 year old daughter has been having this stuffy nose problem for past 3-4 weeks or so. She's not sick and doing well, but her nose is always stuffy. Not runny or have cold symptoms, but I guess something must be bothering her nose. It's not stuffy 24 hours, but she usually has something in her nose that bothers her and sometimes it's hard for me to watch her being so bothered by her stuffy nose. She hates the saline spray, so when I try to use that on her, she panics and gets upset. And even when I do get that in her nose, it...

Allergy Med for Asthmatic?

Hi! My 4 year-old has viral-induced asthma (only has asthma when sick with a cold and at no other times). He is on Singulair and Flovent regularly and Pulmicort and Albuterol nebulizer treatments when sick. He got a cold on Wednesday and we started his cold-induced asthma plan right away. Our Pulmonary Doctor has said to have him on his sick plan for a few more days. He also ended up with a double ear infection with this cold and he started with antibiotics yesterday. He has had allergy testing and came out negative for...

Albuterol Sulf for a 7 Week Old

Hello Mom's, My 7 week old Baby Boy started a very nasty cough on Thursday & by saturday he wasn't sounding any better so we took Him to the urgent care! The Dr there gave Him Albuterol sulf! She said it doesn't mean he has asthma but since he was very congested & a lil of bronchiolitis! But I was reading the side affects of the medicine & I don't like it at all! Of course I'm still giving it to Him! So I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with this medicine before & how did your Baby react to the medication! Oh and what kind of...

Tapering off Flovent and Decreasing Rescue Albuterol for Spring and Summer

Hello! My nearly 3 year-old has viral-induced asthma (only displays asthma symptoms when sick with a cold). His action plan that he's been on pretty much for 7 months is 2 44mcg puffs of Flovent every day and 1 pill of 4mg Singulair every day. Then, at the very first sign of a cold, for 5 days straight we increase the Flovent to 2 puffs 2 times a day and administer 4-6 90mcg puffs of Albuterol every 4 hours. This has worked really well in managing his cold/viral-induced asthma. I understand that the Flovent is preventative, daily...

Allergies Going Haywire This Season. Help Please.

I have allergies and asthma. I take albuterol as needed for asthma attacks and I take Zyrtec only when needed for my allergies, I suffer through all but the worst of it because I hate taking medications and do so as little as possible, I don’t even take things like Tylenol unless I absolutely cannot stand the pain. I am breastfeeding. My doctor checked both and I checked Dr Hale's list and they are both listed as safe while breastfeeding. The problem is when I take the Zyrtec my poor nursling gets the worst diaper rashes and gets loose...
