JFF: Do You Ever Get So Tired of Cooking You Don't Want to Eat?

Ugh, I am at the point (and summer just started) that I am SOOOOOOOOOOO darn tired of cooking, that after I cook, I just lose my appetite! Because after cooking, it just means putting away/washing everything you used for cooking, then the family eats, THEN you gotta put it all away again. And repeat, every day, every meal, every whenever. Even if the family may help or the Husband may cook, I am just so sick of cooking! I rather starve than cook again and again and again and again. I can cook. I cook everyday. From scratch. I cook...

Crock Pot Dinners

I know I'm late to the party, but I made a roast in the crock pot for dinner and loved the simplicity of it. What are some of your favorite crock pot recipes that are fairly easy to throw together?

Move Out of Country or Not

I have been with my husband for 18 yrs. We have three children aged 17, 15, & 12. My husband is from El Salvador and he has decided that it is time for him to move back to his country with or without our kids and I. I encouraged my husband to visit El Salvador last year and so he returned to his country from January - March 2012 by himself. Instead of this satisfying his desire to visit his home country, he returned to the U.S. resolved to move there permanently. He has told me repeatedly that he wants us to move with him and he has...

Need Rug Cleaning Machine for Home Use

Okay, I am all about SIMPLE. To rent the Rug Dr. and lug it home to clean 1 8 x 10 carpet is crazy to me. Cost is a factor, I think if I got something about the size and simplicity of a vacuum cleaner it would be more my style. I have other rugs, some wool, some cotton etc. Is there such a thing that would clean it all and be vacuum cleaner-ish? I am trying to find something I can do myself with an appliance I could buy. Thanks for your help!

How Do We Explain Putting Our Dog to Sleep?

We have an elderly dog that we know within the next few months will likely have to put to sleep. How do we hande this situation with our 2 1/2 year old son? We also have a 14 month old who I don't think will notice one way or the other, but our 2 1/2 year old is definitely old enough now to realize when his doggy is gone. Do we tell him doggy went to live on the farm? Explain death to him (can he really comprehend that)? Or, even go so far as to involve him in it by bringing him along and having him there when we put our dog down? It is...

Opinion on Graco Cribs

Does anyone have an opinion on Graco cribs? I haven't been able to find a store that displays them and have only been able to find them online from Walmart. I like the simplicity of their cribs but would like to 'kick the tires' before I purchased one. Or are there places in the area that have inexpensive but good looking cribs that we can look at in person?

Does the Easter Bunny Visit Your House?

Hi mamas! Yes, I know the religious aspect of Easter. I know it's not about big bunnies and candy and toys, etc. However, me personally, I grew up celebrating the fun tradition of the Easter Bunny. He always hid eggs (real ones that we dyed and decorated) and left us a basket with candy and small gifts. My husband and I disagree on this. He thinks we should ONLY do some candy--no gifts--for our boys. That got me curious as to what all of you other mamas do. So--tell me--if you practice this tradition what does the Easter Bunny leave at...

Update on My Gender Non Conforming Son

I have asked some questions over the years regarding my son and this is not so much a question as it is a rant. My son is now 10 and his personality has not changed much over the years. He is still a super sweet, obedient, well mannered, slightly effeminate, loving and eager to please boy. I put aside my worries over time and just parented my son the best that I could. I admit always becoming uncomfortable when he displayed more effeminate tendencies. (Please don't judge, I judge myself enough. I know it is wrong and I pray to God to...
