Summer Infant Advice Needed

I know babies like to be swaddled and I know they can’t regulate their temperatures right away, but won’t a summer baby (due 6-20-07) get too hot if swaddled too tightly or with too many blankets? What about hats? How long do they need to wear them for temperature regulation? My first baby was a winter baby (born 2-2-06) so swaddling him in multiple blankets made sense (just like they did at the hospital). But I’m at a loss for what to do with a summer baby. Also, any other summer baby advice/suggestions would be appreciated!

Which Summer Infant Video Monitor?

Ok ladies, I need help. Baby # 2 is coming in 10 days and I still haven't chosen a new video monitor yet. I keep hearing that Summer Infant makes the best ones right now, but with 14 different models to choose from, I have no idea which one to get. I definitely want one that lets me have a second camera, so there is one for each kid. Beyond that... HELP!

In-Bed CoSleeper Device

Anyone used one of those in-bed cosleeping things or know anyone who has? Summer Infant has one, there are a few others out on the market. I coslept with my daughter - out of necessity, not original desire, and it worked out fine. This go-round I'm interested in keeping the baby close like I did with my daughter (with a c-section, it was just so much easier to have her right there next to me to breastfeed), but I want to do it as safely as possible. I'm familiar with the Arm's Reach co-sleeper, but I'm more interested in feedback...

How Do You Shower, Take the Garbage Out, Etc with a Toddler??

Hi, looking especially to the single moms for help here... My toddler is on the verge of being able to escape from her playpen and crib. Once she does that I have no idea how I am going to be able to take a shower, use the bathroom, or take something hot out of the oven...ever again! How do you keep your child safe while you do things that you cannot be holding them for?! (plus of course she is getting really heavy and very wiggly) I'm also concerned that with winter coming, I'm going to have to go out to start the car to warm it up...
