I know I've posted on this issue before, but here it goes again! My 3 year old deals with chronic constipation. She is normally a good eater and loves fruits and vegetables. She also drinks water regularly through out the day, I'd say about 4 8oz glasses per day. Sometimes she goes up to 4 days with out having a bowel movement. Miralax for My 23 Month Old?

My son who will be 2 friday has had belly pain for several weeks. The dr ran some tests they all came back normal. The x-ray showed some mild "back up" in the bowels which I thought was odd since he pooped 4 times before the xray that morning. The biggest problem is he poops 4+ times a day and it ranges from hard balls (usually those are about every other day) to peanut butter texture to watery with some chunks in it. Since we started school we have been battling with constipation with our 5 year old. I think it is the transition from "free range" drinking to structure. I have met with the dr countless times and first we tried diet changes with no luck, now we are on miralax. I just wonder if anyone has used this long term with their child and has an opinion. Moms Who Use Miralax

Our son was just put on Miralax by a nutritionist. We started on Thursday and the pharmacist recommended 1 tsp a day for him. It's Sunday now and no sign of a poop. For all the moms who've used this med on their kids, do you remember how long it took to get initial results? And about how long were your kids on it before their systems became regular? Also, what is the dosage you were told to use? My son is 2 years old and about 28 pounds. Thanks!
