Singulair and Nasonex

My 8 year old son has had a persistent cough for about 7 weeks or so. I took him to the doctor 8/19, and they took an x-ray of his lungs. The doctor diagnosed him with mycoplasma pneumonia, and gave him an antibiotic that he took for the prescribed 5 days. The cough has not gone away so we went back to the doctor today. Singulair for Treating Ear Infections???

My pediatrician just prescribed singulair for 30 days to treat my daughter's ear infection. She is 3yrs old and her first ear infection was in January. She has been on antibiotics twice and still has some fluid in her ear. Her nose and sinuses seem totally clear and I am nervous about giving her this drug. Has anyone else been prescribed singulair for this purpose? What did you do? Thank you?

Allergic to the Dog?

My 18-month old has a pretty-much contiuously runny nose. It usually combined with nasal congestion. Fortunately, it doesn't seem to bother her and it doesn't transform into infections or other problems. I suspect she may be allergic to our dog. Is there a way to tell? Is it possible to test for just a dog allergy? Or do I have to subject her to a huge painful test? I really don't want to do that, but if she is allergic I need to konow.

A Runny Nose for 3 Weeks

My 8 mo son has been having a runny nose for 3 weeks. He has no cough or fever, he eats good, sleeps as usual. He has eczema, maybe his runny nose is tip of an allergy too? I plan to go to see a doctor this Monday, or is this nothing to be worry about? Please, I need your opinion. Thank you, M.

Usage of Singulair on a 12 Months Old

Last weekend my one year old baby had to be taken to the hospital because he was having trouble breathing and was wheezing/dry coughing. He had to stay overnite in the hospital, was given respiratory treatments with Zopenex and an oral stereoid (Oralpred). My 2 1/2 year old daughter has been having this stuffy nose problem for past 3-4 weeks or so. She's not sick and doing well, but her nose is always stuffy. Not runny or have cold symptoms, but I guess something must be bothering her nose. Allergy Med for Asthmatic?

Hi! My 4 year-old has viral-induced asthma (only has asthma when sick with a cold and at no other times). He is on Singulair and Flovent regularly and Pulmicort and Albuterol nebulizer treatments when sick. He got a cold on Wednesday and we started his cold-induced asthma plan right away. Anyone Take Singulair While Breastfeeding?

I was prescribed singulair along with some inhaled asthma meds. I've been taking the inhalers for years, but my asthma is really bad right now. I'm breastfeeding a 20 month old, but only in the morning and at night. I take the med in the morning after he feeds, then he goes like 10 hours before he gets milk again. I was told it was safe, but now I've read conflicting things so of course I get nervous. Anyone know what Thomas Hale says? I don't have his book. Thanks.

My pediatrician prescribed Budesonide b/c my son constantly has a runny or stuffy nose and wheezes when he's sick.
