Should a 6 Year Old Get Ready for School Without Reminders...

I have a 6 year old boy.. and a 7 year old girl. I work part time and have a nanny come to my house to watch the kids get them breakfast and drive them to school. Today nanny called me. She said she thought the kids were big enough to get themselves ready for school without constant reminders. She said she had a talk with them today and told them that since they were big now.. she should not have to tell them to get dressed to put their pjs away and to brush teeth and hair... etc... they should just know the routine and do it.. ...

Hello, I would like some advice about expectations of cleanliness for a 9 year old boy. My ds is an intelligent, respectful and responsible guy EXCEPT when it comes to cleanliness. When it comes to chores he turns from a generally nice kid to a very rude and obstinate one. Almost every request or demand for cleanliness (be it removing dishes from the table to cleaning his room) is met with either a grunt or down right refusal. Orthodontist for a 7 Year Old?

I took my kids to their 6-month cleaning with the dentist this week. The dentist mentioned that my 7-year old son's bite was a little off and I might want to think about a orthodontist. When I asked when he should go, the dentist said that now would be a good time. I fully accept that orthodontists are in our future. I will pay the money to let my children have good teeth. However, my son only has 4 permanent adult teeth so far. Is it really common to start with an orthodontist this young before the adult teeth have even come in? ...

Braces for a 6 Year Old??

My daughter's dentists has recommended that we take her to see an orthodontist. She will be 6 in October and has had a pretty significant under bite ever since her teeth came in. When she closes her teeth, her front 6 teeth cover her upper teeth entirely. Has anyone else taken their kid to an orthodontist this young? What did they recommend? How do they handle putting braces on teeth that are starting to come loose anyway?
