The baby is trying to tell you something by crying. At two months, a baby is too small to let them cry on their own for any reason (unless, of course, you have lost all patience and do not trust yourself at that particular moment). The baby can be very colic, experiencing very painful gas (have you tried drops?), something could be wrong with baby like GERD, etc. Remember, their world has recently changed, and they need reassurance that mommy and daddy will be there no matter what. I highly recommend Dr. Sears' "The Baby Book." Good luck.

Your baby is telling you that he/she needs you. You are n't being "conditioned.' Just because they are warm, dry and safe, doesn't mean that they don't need you. Babies under a year are not manipilative. That comes later. ;-)
When your child cries, and you tend to him/her you are showing you are there for them, and your child isn't alone.
Besides, someday when your child is older, they won't want you to hold them and cuddle, etc.
A good book to read is "The Baby Book" by Dr. William Sears. It covers all that and more. You can find it at Target, as well as the bookstore.

Where in the area are you located at? I live in Corona. Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with. =o)

I believe when a baby cries of any age, it is for a reason. However. they can learn to train their parents to come when they cry. but a two month old is still small enough to just cuddle and hold whenever he/she wants. Remember just because YOU know they are safe , doesn't mean they know that yet.
