when its wet.. leave it alone.. and the curl should stay... if you brush it or push it down.. because its still soft..it will straighten... when its wet... just let it dry.. and you can push it up a little.. then it should curl...
My 3-month old son has a head full of hair. It is really curly when it gets wet but when dry its straight . he is half black and mexican we both have really curly hair . Has anyone had a child whose hair was curly when wet but dried straight when they were a small baby? Did their hair end up curly or straight?
Thanks

Honestly, it's not about wet or dry, it's about ethnicity. If your child is mixed black, he will probably have curly hair. I've got 3 mixed children and a number of mixed nieces and nephews and there hair is curly.
When my daughter was 3 months old her hair was curly wet and dried straight and now at 2 yrs old she is curly hair. Most likely with your nationality, your child will have curly hair.
His hair is probably to short to curl when dry. My oldest didn't have hair until he was about 18 months. When it was wet, it was curly, but too short before then to hold curl. Now is hair is SUPER curly. I'd say curly!
Both my kids' hair did that at first too. They were both born with straight hair and then when they were around 6 or 7 months it started to curl. Their hair would start out only being curly when wet, but then as their hair grew it would stay curly when it was dry too. Just give it a little more time to grow and see what it does then. Good Luck!
My hair is wavy when wet, yet perfectly straight dry, no matter what I put into it to try to hold the curl.
tough call. my nephew had the curliest hair when he was born up until he was 2 years old...and now it's stick straight. one of my nieces though, she has kept her curly hair even now (and she's almost 7) curly hair is dominant over straight, so i say it's a good chance it'll stay curly and do so even why dry....later on.
My daughter and I were looking at baby pictures just this week and she pointed to a picture and reminded me how straight her daughter's hair was when dry. It was very curly when wet. She was born with a head of short curly hair. The doctor started to twirl her hair as she waited for the rest to come out. LOL
My granddaughter's hair stayed curly once she had child hair instead of baby hair. She's 10 and still has curly hair even when dry. My daughter sometimes encourages the curls to stay kinked by using an oil product. My granddaughter's father is part black and looks black. My daughter's grandfather immigrated from Lebanon and looks Eastern. Her mother and father both look very much white but my daughter has Eastern coloring and her hair is brown and also curly.
I'd say that there is a very good chance that your son will have curly hair even when dry when he's older.
It will probably be wavy, that's what happened to me, I had curly hair as a baby, whether wet or dry, and eventually as I got older, it would be curly when wet and wavy when dry. Now, it's pretty much wavy when wet, and 98% straight when dry. If it isn't wavy, it will be curly, but I doubt he will have pin-straight hair although you never know, my sister had curls until the age of 5, now she pretty much has pin-straight hair...
Was he born with his hair? If so, this will change. Babies generally lose their birth hair and then more mature hair grows after, he is still very young. My daughter didn't have any hair before 18mos (runs in the family) and it started growing curly in the back and straight on top, now at 2 1/2 it curly all over. I hope it stays and isn't just "baby curls" which is typical for my family, except my Mom, she had super curly hair, I'm hoping my daughter has some of her hair :)
What about your family? Sometimes the genes go back further than just Mom and Dad. But at 3 mos it's too early to tell, you'll have to wait to see! :)
My daughter's hair was like that when she was very young like yours but then it turned into EXTREME curly!! I have mostly straight hair with a slight wave but my husband has really curly (he is 1/2 Puerto Rican, 1/2 Dominican). My daughter's hair is beautiful but CRAZY!!
mine is still that way and I am 41. I can cheat if I want it curly I mousse it and pick it and leave it. if I want it straight I just brush it out. he will probably have both depending if he wants to mousse and pick or let it dry natural.
