So What Happened?

Ok thanks for your responses. I received a Kindle for Christmas. Its nice but if my husband would of told me he was thinking of getting one I would of told him I wanted one with free downloads from the local library. So I think I am going to get Nook color.
Well I purchased a regular Nook today. I am happy with my purchase. I loved the Nook color but didnt want to spend $250.

My BIL just bought the Nook for my sister for Xmas-he did a lot of research, Nook vs Kindle and the Nook won based on $$ of books-book sharing with friends, book availability, where you can get the books, etc.

I was thinking Kindle until I talked to him, now I would go Nook

Nookcolor!!!!
first of all it's in color, and it can get books from not only barnes and noble but also books a million.
It does not only adult books but also kids book.
I don't have one I am getting one as so as I do the taxes.I do have a friend that has one and he LOVES it.
Don't go kindle , it has a smaller library and it uses amazon, amazon sells books on instructing pedophiles how to get kids. Yes they took it down but they shouldn't have had it up in the first place.

I don't have an ereader...but I do have ibooks on my iphone. I was looked to see if there were any suggestions given on one of my favorite sites - the SkinnyScoop and someone recommended the Sony and gave a good description as to why they liked that one best - check it out:

I have has a Sony for over a year and I love it. I almost never pay for books as there is always something I want to read from the public library's ebook system. My local county system didn't have them this time last year (few in my state came up as compatible back then) so I drove 2 hours (one way) to spend 7 lousy minutes in another counties library to fill out a short form to get registered in their system so I could do the books online thru their system. Now my local system uses the same vendor (they got a grant to pay for it).

I have little need for color, so I am not concerned about upgrading anytime soon. If and when I do in the future it will be to the next size bigger, but the one I have fits perfectly in my purse, I use the small padded slip case it came with the protect it (less bulky in my purse and protects it great). My eyes do not tire (this is something people ask me or comment negatively on all the time??), and it works wonderfully! I feel like I am "cheating" on my love of real books...LOL...but for all those times I am sitting in Dr offices, in long lines, etc its great. For someone who travels, or maybe commutes on the bus to work, it would be great. I also am a person who likes to be reading several different books all at the same time, so this works fantastic for that weird option!

Good luck with your shopping!

sorry for the late response but i just got a nook color and love it! i set up the library on it and based on my experience so far, it isn't all it's cracked up to be. it seems every ebook i want to check out is already checked out so i haven't even found one to try and download yet. but i still like the nook in general! tons of free books and cheap books to download in the meantime :)

I got a Pandigital for Christmas and I think i am gonig to return it.

I found the keyboard was impossible to use. They keys tap-a-bility was so off.

I might return it for a Kindle. Although the Sony sounds good too (NBinMN).

I bought the $199 nook for my dad for Christmas. He did lots of research and this is what he requested. He said B&Noble has best inventory of books (I thought Amazon/Kindle was the way to go). He did not want the color version because it is back-lit or something, making it difficult to read. A girlfriend also commented on the backlit feature when she decided on hers.

Lastly, he said not to get the panidigital as he heard bad things about their customer service if you have problems (and they have a pandigital digital picture frame, which is impossible to use (I've tried)...Really? can a picture frame be difficult? if so, then the ereader must be impossible!).
