I love to eat it in a bread bowl. I am doing creamy potato soup in bread bowls for halloween :) Yum!
My husbands likes this soup a lot and I'm going to try making it tonight using a recipe from Food Network. I've never had it before so I have no idea what it tastes like or what to serve it with. Is it an accompaniment to a full meal or do you eat it as a meal in itself with some warm bread like we sometimes do with chowder? Thanks! :)
Thanks for your help! I'll do a salad & some warmed bread as suggested. :)

Yum! Serve with a green salad, add 1/2 a pear or dried cranberries and pecans/nuts little sweetness and crunch to balance the creamy soup. I would normally add a small side plate of a smoked salmon or deli meat to add some protein to the dinner.
I make potato leek soup all the time.
On those nights, I just serve it with a hearty salad.... and good crusty warm bread.
Its enough. Its a meal.
Yeah I would definitely do some nice cornbread or cresent rolls and a salad, sounds yummy!!! If you want to be really fancy you could do a nice little fruit salad for dessert, so delish!
Salad & crusty bread!
It should be yummy. You can serve ham sandwiches if someone wants some meat.
I make potato corn chowder often during the winter and that is wonderful too.
Well... it sounds like you decided, but if you want something more like a full meal try with it a roast leg of lamb...
I always make some baguette cut in slices and toped with some cheese , sprinkle of paprika, that goes into a hot oven untill the bread is toasted and the cheese has melted. Leeks and cheese go great together.
