Try the Lonesome Dove Ranch in Southlake. It is beautiful and they have a reception hall and everything. It is also on Lake Grapevine.
A friend of mine is planning her wedding for next June. We are looking for a place to hold the wedding. Know any good places? She is not a member of any church so church wedding is not an option. She is looking for more of a Chapel, B&B, or something more creative. Been to any fun weddings lately?

That really depends on what she is looking for and what her personality is like. We held ours in June a few years ago at the Venetian Terrace on the canal in Las Colinas. Our wedding was fairly small with 70 ppl in attendance. It was great!

There were a few places we checked into... The castle in Rockwall (http://www.castledouglastexas.com/). That was too cheesy for me being 34.
The Infomart is rentable for weddings. I went to a reception there a few years ago. It was gorgeous with all the glass and the huge glass fountain in the center.
Another friend held theirs at the aquarium in dallas. Different...
I also thought Delaney Vineyards in Grapevine would be beautiful.
I sent you a private message but I have a lot of ideas for you in the fort worth and surrounding areas! send me a message if you did not get it for some reason.
Robert Carr Chapel is a great place but, they do stay booked up, up to over a year in advance unless you want to have a 2:00 wedding. There is a place in Southlake that has a chapel that looks a lot like Robert Carr Chapel and they have a place for the wedding reception attached to it. It looks very lovely from the pictures. The problem is that I can't remember the name of it. It is a new place and I will try to google it and see if anything comes up. But, I met the girl that owns it and I thought it looked very elegant.
University Christian Church is beautiful and has a beautiful chapel, depending on how many you are inviting. You don't have to be a member but, you have to pay to use the church, typical of any church. Thistle Hill is good - small. The Botanical Gardens in FW is great but, the weather can be an issue but, maybe not in June.
I had my wedding at the Green Oaks Wedding Chapel in Arlington. Below is the website:

the sanford house in arlington is a wonderful place for a wedding or a reception. the garden is gorgeus and you can rent rooms there too. convenient location and great food too! i used to work near it and love looking at the flowers.
Personally I had my reception at the Lockheed Martin Recreation Association. My sister did too! if they aren't in your area, try a community center.
I was married in Robert Carr Chapel at TCU last June and we had the reception at McDavid Studios (adjacent to Bass Hall in downtown Fort Worth) and everyone LOVED it! I always wanted the traditional wedding (but like your friend do not belong to any specific church) so the chapel was perfect. We had approx. 100 people in attendance. FYI - Robert Carr books up over a year in advance so if she is interested she might have a hard time actually getting into this Chapel (call and see if they have any opening asap!)

I was married in the backyard of the Aldridge House on Swiss Ave. in Dallas. Had about 200, set up chairs. It was beautiful. Married at sunset, then reception at the Adolphus. Definitely a different and unique place to get married since I didn't yet have a church home here. check it out!
We were married at Maple Manor (Dallas) and we loved it. We had such a good time and they have an indoor location just in case the weather is too hot or it happens to rain - which it did, but we were all set. Everything was perfect and the price was very reasonable: http://www.themaplemanorhotel.com/Home.html
There is a Circle K I think Ranch off 1171 in Lewisville. One of that gals I worked with said she and her hubby went there for Steak dinners. I have never been and you can not see it from the road. They usually have fire works during the 4th I could see from my home in Double Oak. Also I had a friend who her son managed Dave and Busters off 35 going into Dallas. One time I was there and they covered the pool tables and fixed it up snazzy. So may look into those places. G. W
My brother in law just had his wedding in June at the Thistle Hill in Ft. Worth and the reception was at Casa Manana Theatre . The wedding was outdoors and was hot but I believe they also do indoor weddings and have a beautiful staircase..
I got married at the Dallas Arboretum in June a few years ago...it was beautiful. They have diffent sized gardens and various packages.
There are a couple of places I can think of right now. One is Ventana Grille in Arlington. It's almost to Mansfield. It is a very nice, very pretty restaurant on a golf course. The other is the Sanford House in Arlington. It is a B&B and they have a gazebo outside.
