There is a place called "Chapel Gardens" in Frisco on Preton Rd. north of Main St. between Meadow Hill and Fisher. They specialize in outdoor weddings.

I have a friend who recently got engaged, and is trying to find an outdoor location in the metroplex to have her wedding in April. She would like to get married in the afternoon, so places like the Arboretum will not work since they are open to the public during the day. Any ideas?

K.,
We got married at Sneaky Pete's on Lewisville Lake. They have a seperate wedding pavillion from the other activities that over looks the lake and makes for great pics. We also had the reception inside the big banquet room they have there and our rehearsal dinner was in the small banquet room. Overall it was one of the cheapest locations we looked at, but had the best view/background. And they take care of everything for you. We had our ceremony at 7pm as the sun was going down over the lake in the background. If it rains they can accomodate the wedding inside aswell. This side of the lake is not open to the public. Only by appointment.

reflections on spring creek offers an outdoor wedding and then a beautiful room for the reception - its where we had our reception - they also have a chapel in case of bad weather

There are many locations around the metroplex for small outdoor weddings. There is the city square in Plano outside of the Bob Woodruff park. Old City Park and the Dallas Horticulture Center have outdoor garden weddings. If her budget permits, the Hotel Crescent Court has a beautiful courtyard for weddings. There are many local parks that have suitable locations for tight budgets as well. She can check with the local parks and recreation departments.
I got married at the Arboretum at 10:00 in the morning while they were open and it was not a problem. We were in the Sunken Garden which is very protected. The cost of holding our wedding there gave our guests free parking and admission, so they would have been able to enjoy the gardens before/after the wedding if they wished to do so. (It was in June at it was already 100 degrees, so I am not sure anyone took them up on that!) You cannot get dressed at the Arboretum, unless you rent a building, I believe. I had to dress in my sister's van-- only down side!

I was married at The Tribute Golf Club in The Colony. It was perfect! I can send you pics if you'd like.
If it's a small wedding--do it at the Arboretum....at the Gazebo. It's very private. We had a small wedding there and nobody bothered us.congrats.
I second Jamie W. I attended a beautiful wedding at Reflections on Spring Creek!
I was married outside by the water at the Omni Hotel. It was awesome and then I had the reception inside in the ballroom following the ceremony. They did a wonderful job and it was nice not to drive anywhere!!
