Looking Old!

I hate that I'm starting to look old! I'm 35 and my mom has aged beautifully! I have two very active boys, 5 & 3, a stressful job, but I only work part-time.

I'm looking for some skincare products to help with the fine lines I'm starting to get and to get my skin glowing again. I'm currently using Meaningful Beauty and not loving the results.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

HA!!! Did this post ever hit home! I have developed a giant crease in my forehead and my makeup actually settled in it the other day, and I am 36! I used to have people not believe that I could be in my 30's...sigh.
I have found in the past that retina-a really brightened up my skin and evened out the tone. It is an rx from the dermatologist, and is not for everyone.
Also, regular exfoliation (2-3 x per week) truly helps. Microdermabrasion if you can afford it is spectacular.

I haven't used retin-a much in the last 2 years due to a baby (CANNOT be used while prego) and we're trying for another baby now.

Shaklee Enfuselle and nutrition products! No one believes me when I tell them my age. My doctor is on maternity leave and at my check-up the sub commented that my chart was wrong. He had an utter look of disbelief on his face when I said the chart was correct - I am 44. He thought I was late twenties, early thirties.

I agree with Shelly, Shaklee Enfuselle is the way to go. Everyone also thinks I am at least 10 years younger than I am. You can find them at http://www.shaklee.net/healthforlife. It will show that you have to be the complete system but you can buy individual products. You might also be interested in their makeup, Minerelles. It contains the skincare and is so good for your skin you can sleep in it.
If you would like some samples, let me know.

I'm 30. I've been using the clarisonic skin cleanser for about 6 months. You'd be amazed at how much cleaner, clearer, and smoother your face is! I use it with Philosophy Purity facial cleanser. To combat dryness, I've been rubbing sweet almond oil with a dab of jojoba oil onto my face before bed. Skin really absorbs those two oils. I don't wash with soap in the morning - just a little splash of warm water and then a splash of cool water. For those areas around my eyes, I use Juice Beauty eye serum. I get all of the products at Sephora.

Also, my skin could be considered combination...I've always had an oily t-zone and I've always had my face break out around the time I get my period. But since I've been using the clarisonic, my skin stays clear despite the hormones!

hth!!

Man do I hear what you're saying! I'm 35 too and I'm beginning to think that this is it as far as my looks go. I have three kids and I work part time. I used to sell Arbonne products and they have a great line of anti-aging products which I still use. They have a fantastic eye cream that I love. It's not cheap but you only use a tiny bit in the morning and at night. One kit should last you at least 6 months. Arbonne.com

Hello K.,

Besides good products, also concentrate in good nutrition and enough rest (I'm trying...no simple answers yet) make sure you're getting enough vitamin D (400/day is not enough). the normal range is 32-100, however the optimal level is 55. Make sure you drink plenty of water. God Bless! ~C.~

I swear by Obagi from my dermatologist, but you can't use it while trying to get pregnant. It is an awesome line and when I know I'm done trying, I'm going back to it!!!

For now I use Garnier Nutristioniste Ultra Lift products... You can get them at any drug store. They have made a world of difference in my skin and I have tried everything! You don't have to have a consultant and you can get them when you need them. They also don't cost an arm and a leg. The deep wrinkle cream is amazing!

Make sure you do cleanse everyday, exfoliate once a week, and moisturize every morning and evening. :) I'm 38 and most people think I'm 30. Good luck!

Ha! I feel the same way, and I am only 32! Of course all those days relaxing on the beach did not help in the aging department!

I have been using an anti-wrinkle cream by "Roc" and I really feel like it does a great job. I have been asked by coworkers in the past about what I use on my skin because they couldn't believe my age (HUGE compliment). I have also been mistaken by some people as a "student" when I was actually the teacher!!

This product goes for about 20 dollars at any drug store. I first bought it because I read (I think it was in Consumer Reports) that this product and also one by Neutrogena were the two best anti-wrinkle creams.

Good luck!

I'm 42, and here to tell ya, it doesn't get better with age. I have been using Elizabeth Arden products (found at my local Ross, so it's not an arm and a leg) and have really enjoyed the results. Also, drink water! A lot! If you are dehydrated those little fine lines become faults! LOL!

And hair dying, which I used to do as a fashion statement in my 20s, is now a requirement! Arg!

I had to laugh at this post. Not laugh AT it, really, but oh man, am I with you!! I've always gotten ID'd and had people shocked at how old I was cuz I didn't look it. Well, those days are over!! It seemed these fine (and deep) lines popped up so quickly! Anyway, if you find a great cream, lotion, etc. Please share your results!
Anyway, a couple things I do to make myself feel better....not sure it makes a huge difference in the wrinkles.. is to use a bronzer blush. I put it on the forehead, nose cheeks and along jawline - where you normally tan. It gives my face a less-tired look. I also have switched from a powder blush to a cream. I was afraid it wouldn't blend very well, but it does a beautiful job blending. It gives my face a dewey, not greasy, look. I've heard the powders will settle into your lines. I use the bare minerals and love them, but may try a liquid foundation when my supply runs out, just to see if it's true or if it's enough for me to even notice.
I am also trying to drink more water. I'm sure that helps, it's just harder than you'd think - to get enough hydration.
I always thought I would grow old gracefully....but that was before I started getting old.
Good luck, girl!!!
