Interested to hear what kind of games you play on your Wii. We bought the kids one for Christmas. Seems as though we have already mastered the Bowling, Tennis, Baseball, Boxing and Golf. I bought the Mario Bros WInter Olympics - and I think it is HARD and CONFUSING -- I do not enjoy it and my kids are not either!! ( and it was $50 )
They are so discouraged with it -- they don't even want to play Wii.
So what are some easy, kid-friendly games for a 3yr old and 5 yr old ???

My 3yr old has a Wii at his dad's house and he talks almost non-stop on the drive over about Mario Cart. He just has a blast at it :)
My boys (age 3 and 6) like Cooking Mama and Resort Sports. We rent games from the video store first to try for a week before we buy. We learned the hard way too...when we bought the Wii a year ago, we bought several expensive games for the boys, and they can't play them! That's why we don't buy a game any more until we have tried it!
MarioKart!!!! My 3 year old loves it and it is super fun for us all to play together. I agree with previous poster who I think was trying to make the point that it's nice to turn off the electronics and play other things together, BUT I don't think there is anything wrong with connecting with your child in this technical world that they were born into. Mario Kart is a great on and don't let people make you feel guilty about playing video games with your kids!
The best one my 5yo niece likes is the Elebits game. It is pretty hard at first because it required the nunchuk to help you walk and move about. It's very good for eye hand coordination, warning it will make you motion sick to watch someone else play since you are walking room to room, looking over and in things, etc. Also, this came requires you to capture Elebits, which are energy sources, but it does look like a gun so if you are trying to avoid anything like that this game is not for you. It is rated E for Everyone though and my niece just loves it now that she's got it figured out. She also likes WiiPlay and WiiFit Plus!
There is the Wii Party game that has ski ball, darts, etc. they could probably play. If you have internet access on your Wii you can also download games. We have the original Mario on ours and it's really easy. You just turn your remote sideways to play it. Mario Cart is also a game they could probably play. If you're not happy with the game you bought, take it to a store like GameStop and sell/trade it for another game. Good luck, hope this helps.
My DD is 4, and she loves Super Mario Cart (calls it the Driving Game). Wii Fit is a little too hard for her right now, although other kids may enjoy it. That's all we've gotten this far, but the wii has been fun for us as a family!
Go Diego Go Safari Rescue. Check out the reviews on Toysrus.com and most say their 2 and 3 year olds can play it.
My girls are turning four next month. They got the build-a-bear game and they are fond of it.... and once i get the game set up, the game shows them how to play each thing, and they caught right on. Only thing is that I had to set it up each time for them. But it was cute to watch them anyways.
We always rent games to try before we buy. We just rented Mario Party 8 and my kids love it. I have 5 year old twins and a 3 year old. They played together for the longest time today. I have to help the first few times they open a new game but once they play it they have no trouble. They all play together and take turns. I will definetly be buying this one.
Hi. My boys just got Lego Batman and LOVE it. They need help a lot, but have figured out how to work together to play. They each hold 1 part of the controller. 1 walks the character around and 1 jumops and breaks things. I'm SHOCKED at how well they actually do. My oldest is 4 and his brother will be 3 in a few months. They also LOVE Batman so that helps a lot....I honestly think that is the key.
I've heard good things about the Jumpstart Pet game, but haven't found it at Gamestop yet.
We are a "video game" family. We have had every Nintendo console ever made and XBOX/XBOX360...in my opinion, there are NO games for children that age for the Wii! Sorry! It's just not that fun...in all honesty only 2 out of the 7 kids at my house really enjoys playing the Wii. The 10 yr. old likes playing the "dance dance" type games and the 18 yr.old likes all Mario Bros. and The Metroid Prime Trilogy.

I personally do not like the Mario games... my kids never wanted to buy it either.
Also for games... we often to to Game Stop or, www.gamestop.com and you can see the ratings of it and search the games for kids... you want to look for the "E" rating, which is for "everyone."
They also have 2nd hand games/pre-owned games for sale.... and much cheaper, and you can take your unwanted games there and sell it back.
The only game for the Wii that is specifically made for ages 3 to 6 is "Learning with the PooYoos - Episode One." It is WiiWare that you must buy online through the Wii. It's only $5. We got it for my daughter who is almost 4. She had no experience with video games before, but she is learning how to use the remote with this game and she loves it. There are 2 learning levels. One where you push the cooresponding buttons on the Wiimote, and the other you learn to point at the screen & click. Kinda boring, but she loves the animals, and it's helping her learn to use the remote.
It also tells the kids to get up and dance with the PooYoos. It can't tell if the kids are doing it or not, but my daughter has fun with it!
Wii Fit Plus is too hard for her. She can do a few things with my help, but most of the time I'm moving her for her! She doesn't understand the concepts of the balance games & such.
We love Toy Story Mania.
My kids are 4 and 5. In addition to the sport, they like Carnival Games (dunk tank, coin toss, skee ball, etc) and Wii Fit. They just got Dora Saves the Snow Princess and Diego's Dinosaur Rescue games for Christmas that they also enjoy. My son likes the slot car races on Playground.
My 4 year old daughter really enjoyed the disney princess game but she did need some help. We just got her a Littlest Pet Shop game that she is also enjoying. She & her friend (a 4 year old boy) have a blast foam-sword fighting each other in the sports resort game.
I bought the Diego Great Dinosaur Rescue and my 5 yo loves it! My 7 yo does, too, for that matter. And it was one of the $20 ones. It is very active and it is super young kid friendly in that they can't really do it wrong. You don't have to jump at just the right time to get across the moving lily pads and it doesn't let them fall off cliffs. I highly recommend it!
Personally I would be thankful if they are tired of it. AN opportunity to do something non-electronic. Play board games together or read to each other(or pretend). Put on shows. SIgn up for activitied at library or community center. This is a blessing in disguise.
"Wii Play" would be a good, appropriate game - we purchased our Wii when our daughters, now 10, were 7, and this was more enjoyable for them than Wii Sports even. We have the olympic game, and they like it, but it is certainly confusing!
Wii play also uses the Mii characters, which Mario Kart and Winter Olympics do not. One other game that our daughters enjoy, but doesn't use our own Mii characters, is Wii Carnival. But before this, I'd definitely go with Wii Play!
My boys are 5 & 8 now, but we've had the wii for over a year now - they love Wii Play, Mario Kart, deBlob, and the lego games - we have both star wars & indiana jones - they can play those lego games for hours lol, although we try to limit them to just 1 hr per day! :)

We love wii Fit plus. My son is 6 y/o with discoordination and fine motor skills issues. It took him about a week and half with lots of friends and family playing with him couple hours each day. He loves it!!
Wii Sports Resort is fun. It is has some of the same games as Wii sports - bowling and golf for example - but it has some different games within those sports (100 pin bowling is very silly and fun). Our 4 year old niece likes it and our 22 month old boy can even do the sword fighting (he just swings around the wiimote but it works!)
Someone else mentioned going to Gamestop for second-hand games - you can get something that works perfectly for half the price! In my experience, the people that work there are also good at recommending games.
