Finding a Church Home with Heart for "Special Needs"children

Granger Comm. Church has an awesome children's program! They are right across from the SuperTarget in Mishawaka. They also have a class called "Special Friends" and children that need a little extra love and attention are given one on one care. If you are interested you can call the church and they can tell you more about it and also line up a specific adult to care for your children. Their phone number is: ###-###-#### and their website is: http://www.gccwired.com/ Church has 4 services, 2 on Sat. nt and 2 on Sun. but I'm not sure if they provide "Special Friends" at all 4 services or not. If you are interested in checking out the church, my husband and son go on Sat. nt at 5pm, just let me know and I can meet you some where and show you around.

If you need help getting the children from the parking lot to the front door, we also have 2 buses that circulate through out the parking lots.

We have been attending there since July 2006 when we moved up from Charlotte.

I'm with the other two....we also attend GCC...AMAZING, your child will get one on one attention from a dedicated volunteer in room built specially for special needs children...it's fabulous. Children are VERY important at GCC and security circles the children's area before during and after the whole services. I can't say enough good things about our church...it's like home for us and our boys LOVE it. I hope you come, we'd love to have you!

I attend Granger Community Church and love it there. They are excellent with Children's programs and have a special room set aside for special needs children. You can be upstairs enjoying your service without worrying about the children.
The music is on the contemporary side, but the messages are fantastic.

You have probably already received a ton of responses - but I would like to throw in my two cents as well....
We go to River Valley Church on Bittersweet Road across from Penn High School and we love it. It is non-denominational but was planted by Gospel Center Missionary Church. I have to admit I don't know a whole lot about their programs for special needs kids particulary - but I do know their kids programs are one of the main reasons we chose the church. They do a fabulous job and my kids love it!! Also we have what I think is a higher than normal number of adoption families and an adoption ministry called Father's Heart. We have an upbeat service - nothing crazy or radical with contemporary praise and worship with a few hymns thrown in every now and then. Our "celebration" times are Sundays at 8am, 9:30 and 11am. We have children's programs for infant-3rd grade in all services, but the 4th-8th graders and Youth group have their classes during the 11:00 service.
