I haven't been to church in years but lately i've been feeling the need to start going more and more but i don't know where. I am looking for a church in or near haltom city where i can take my kids that feels comfortable and not judgemental.
We have been visiting Gateway in Southlake, and we really like it a lot. I know where you're coming from with the judgement thing...and I have not sensed any of that from the people at Gateway whatsoever. There's also a campus in North Richland Hills on Davis Blvd. Lots of children's activities--my 9 y.o. daughter loves it.
You might give Celebration Fellowship a try. Very casual. In the process of building a new state-of-the-art children's building. The address is 1140 Morrison Drive in Fort Worth. Close to the corner of I-30 and Southeast Loop 820.
There is a place for you.

Dear M. D,
I love my church and highly recommend it, but it isn't in your area. It's Fellowship Church. There's one in Fort Worth and Grapevine. Those are the ones nearest to you. You can check it out online at www.fellowshipchurch.com.
I have prayed that you will find the perfect place for you and your family!

I don't attend now (moved too far away) but while I was there (6 years) Birdville Baptist was a wonderful place. I hope it still is. Couldn't hurt to try a Sunday or two and see!

I used to attend Richland Hills Church of Christ off 820 and Rufe Snow. It was a wonderful church once you got "plugged in". They have a great youth program, and they also have parenting classes that you can find out about if you want. The nursery is awesome, and they do a pager system. It is a big church and can be intimidating. The only reason I don't attend anymore is that I married a baptist and we moved, we now attend Grace Fellowship in Paradise.

I attend Fellowship of the Parks in Keller (off of North Beach just north of Heritage Trace Pkwy). It might be a bit of a drive for you, but I have friends that live in Haltom City who attend. We have LOTS of children's programs and are very laid back. I was hesitant to attend church because I have a daughter but have never married... it's never been an issue in the least. The services usually focus on 'doing the right thing' and not harsh judgments. Let me know if you decide to join us, I usually attend the 8:30 service.
Gateway Church. There is "official" church is in Southlake off of 1709, but they have a sat location off of davis blvd. Great church, non denomational. We have been attending for 5 years now and love it. They have great praise and worship. They have awesome children's ministry, the kids love going and they have great new beginners classes.
Blessings,
A.

I belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints aka Mormon. To learn more about it you can visit www.mormon.org and if you want you can even schedule a time to have a tour of the Chapel while there are no meetings going on so you can feel more comfortable. I love being a member of this church, I have grown in my testimony of Christ and that knowledge has helped me to a better person, mother and wife. If you have any question just let me know. There are a few church buildings you can attend depending on where you live in Haltom City.

I would highly recommend Cross Timbers Community Church in Keller. My family and I have been members there for about 3 years, and absolutely love it! It is a non-denominational church with a very casual atmosphere, offering services on Saturday and Sunday. The pastors, children's ministry, and MOPS group are awesome! They also offer lots of classes and programs throughout the year. I encourage you to check out the website www.crosstimberschurch.org. I would love for you and your family to visit. If you are interested in attending a service, I would love to meet you and show you around. I hope this helps!

Hi M.,
Congratulation on the new baby! We just moved back from Plano to Bedford but found Bear Valley Community Church to be an awesome introduction back to church. Non-donomination Christian church that is very welcoming. It's located off Precint Line b/w Hwy 26 & Davis close to Haltom City. I think a lot of Haltom City people are Members. Let me know if you need more information...would love to meet you!

Gateway is a fabulous church. They also have a great big heart for single mother's and their kids. My kids ask me to go to church all the time. They have the best time in the children's ministry and I am very comfortable there. We mostly go on Monday nights and then go to variuos classes they offer.
I have tried several churches in the area and have found Gateway to be the best church home for me and my family. If you would like to go, I would be happy to meet you there.
God Bless,

My daughter is the children's minister at a wonderful church in the HEB area. It is Life Connection Church on Glade Road in Euless just off 121. It is a small church but they have really been growing. It is basically a Baptist church although they are pretty contemporary and a large part of their church are new Christians. They really reach out to the community and are anything but judgemental. You should at least visit and give them a try. My daughters name is Chantel if you would like to call the church and speak with her.

You can actually check our church out online at www.milestonechurch.com. We are an exciting and growing, and non-judgemental church with great childrens and youth ministry and four service times to choose from, including three on Sunday, and one on Saturday evening. I hope to meet you there.
Praying that God will guide you to the church that is best for you!

I also attened the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Haltom City. It is set up by address which building you go to, similar to school districts to avoid the "mega church" feel and so that we can be more of help to our neighbors. You can go here to find which meeting time you would attend:
http://www.mormon.org/worshipwithus
It is a very welcoming and loving Christ centered church that has greatly improved my life and love for the Savior. There are wonderful programs for all members of the family, especially the youth. Here is a new website up that details our beliefs:
Not sure what faith you are but we are new in the city from California and after 20 years the Lord has us establishing a church here in Grand Prairie Tx. Not too sure how far that is from where you are. The address is Praise Center Community Church holding service at the Grand Prairie Senior Activities Center, 925 Conover Drive, Grand Prairie, TX 75051. I do pray that if the Lord is drawing you, he will help you locate a place that is very comfortable and very fulfilling and offers just what you need. God Bless.

M.,
first of all, congratulations on your beautiful family and your upcoming baby girl.
I moved here from CA 2 years ago. We lived in Haltom City while we were waiting for construction on our home. I didn't know anyone and barely knew my way around, so I looked for where I could find a MOPs (Mothers of preschoolers) group at a church nearby. I found Glenview Baptist right on 820. They have a fabulous indoor treehouse/play area and an amazing program for children. They also have a wonderful heart for productions and they put on a few shows/year for Christmas and Easter. We have attended several of them, although we did not wind up attending that church permanently. We moved into our new house and found a church that met our needs on this side of town. But if we were still living over there, we would have made Glenview our home church. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
I know several people who are very active members there if you have any questions, I would be happy to put you in touch with them.
Blessings,
K.

I think Milestone might be a good fit for you. It's at the edge of Keller/Watauga/N Ft. Worth off of N. Tarrant and Willis Lane. I can guarantee that you will feel welcome. If you decide to try it out, PM me and let me know which service you might come to, and if it's one we're at, we'll look for you. I'm not sure of the ages of your children, but my 2 year old absolutely loves going, and I'm a youth leader for 7 - 12 graders. It's an awesome youth experience with their special service being on Wed. Check it out at www.milestonechurch.com Good luck, and I hope you find what you're looking for. :o)

We attend North Richland Hills Baptist Church. www.nrhbc.org Check out the Wood/Wade class if you decide to check us out! I had preterm labor and had a huge group of people praying for us because of this wonderful class and church! The kids/preschool program is awesome! You can check out our two websites www.hopechurch.com or www.unscrewmylife.com for more information. May God lead you to just the right place for you and your growing family!!

Cross Timbers in Argyle is not far if you take 35W north to 1171. It is a "come as you are" church and I think you would love it! Service times are Saturday night and Sunday a.m.s with functions for children during the week. Our senior pastor will be taking a sabatical soon, but will be around for another few weeks and our other church staff will not disappoint in his absence! www.crosstimberschurch.org. GOOD LUCK!

Check out the Methodist churches in your area. I know some folks who attend FUMC- Haltom City. In fact, the lady who heads up their children's program is a great person - Sarah Harris. Also, FUMC- Hurst is a very active church. If you've seen the ads, you know that we Methodists pride ourselves on "open mind, open heart, open doors" - You should find a lot of love and acceptance there!

Hi M.!
I would love to invite you to visit our church. Springdale Baptist Church is in the Riverside area of Ft. Worth (not far from Haltom City at all!) and is what I would call a small to medium size church. We have around 250 people attend on a Sunday morning. Springdale has to be the friendliest and most welcoming church around! There are people from all walks of life and people from all kinds of backgrounds. You will never find any condemnation here! And we have a wonderful children's ministry. As the Children's Minister, I am a bit biased but I know the kids love it! ;o) Our kids service, Amplify, is a FUN and energetic time of worship with puppets, drama, music, and small groups for study. My kids LOVE it!
If you do decide to visit, let me know! I would love to meet you, show you around, and help your kids get settled in our kids program. You can take a peek at us at www.springdalebc.com. You can email me from here or directly from our website at the children's page.
Hope to meet you soon,
S.
