Gerber Baby Food Plastic Containers

With all the news coverage about concerns over plastics I've started checking the recycling codes on all the stuff our son uses. I noticed over the weekend that Gerber Baby food comes in plastic with a recycle code of 7 - which has been reported to contain BPA. I've emailed the company and for the time being have switched to brands (Earth's Best) that come in glass containers - but really miss the variety that Gerber offered. Any advice on making baby food at home or resources that explain how to make baby food? I'm pretty short on time...

13 Month Old Not Interested in Solid Food

Hello I have a 13 month son who has very litle interest in solid food. I have tried feeding him solids since 6months. He mostly spits everything out or will eat a few bites and then lose interest. I thought at first it was just the texture of purrees. He will eat Cheerios and graham crackers. Sometimes I can get him to eat bananas, scrambled eggs, beans, and cut up string cheese. Good day I have 2 problems First: My 10 m old just got the stomach virus last Sat and we saw her nurse Tues. The Dr could not come see her paitents for a while since the power went out when we arrived so our nurse advised us to give pedialyte and little foods here and there. She has been holding down her milk ever since she got it, she would only vomit when we would feed her the gerber foods so I stopped that and gave her puffs and cheerios, which she held down. We are going back to the Dr again since she lost some weight tmorrow but...

When to Start Finger Foods???

Hello everyone, my son loves using his hands to eat. Infact he gets mad when I am feeding him because he wants to do it himself. He is 7 months old and we give him the Gerber Puffs, and we have started giving him the Biter Buscuits. He really enjoys the independence of eating on his own. How do I know when its time for me to start cooking things such as pasta, and giving him small pieces? And pieces of fruit and such? Any advice would be very helpful!!!

I don't know if I should get Gerber Life Insurance for my 2 year old. My father has one policy for her (he gets one for all the grandkids) but he's 69 now, and I don't know if he'll have it forever. I don't know if I should get one too. I have a nephew that's 11 - and he's now diabetic, and uninsurable, so that's really got me thinking. Does anyone have it and/or have any experience with it??

What Do I Feed Her?

Hello. My only child is turning 1 in a couple of weeks and I'm totally panicing about taking her off the bottle. I don't think actually taking her off is going to be a problem because she's deffinately not attached; but I have no idea what to feed her. She only has 5 teeth, all in the front of course, and I feel like I can only feed her so much yogurt and applesauce. I need to make sure she's getting the proper nutrience. Please someone, give me some ideas.

I got this peice of mail the other day and it was for Gerber life insurance. No idea what that is? Is Three Months Old Too Early to Begin Cereal, and Gerber 1St Foods?

My son is 3 months old, and it has seemed that the usual 6 oz every 3-4 hours isn't satisfying him anymore...he constantly seems hungry,,he has even at times taken 8 oz of formula. He can sit up with support, and his head is still a little "wobbly", He has shown an interest in the families dinner time, and is always "gnawing" on his fists and fingers! What do you think?
