Unmotivated 16 Year Old

My 16 year old daughter is very smart, but is very unmotivated to complete her school work, therefor seems to be running a C average in almost everything. I speak to her teachers who say she 'drifts off' in class. She often gets zeros for homework she 'does not feel like doing'. In Today's Times: Do You Save?

Hey moms, I am really curious how moms out there manage their budgets...what is a comfortable "leftover" amount after all bills are paid and money has been put away for savings? After bills, we put away 250-500 per month per kid for college, 1500 monthly for 401K and 1000 per month for investments. After all that we have about $1000 left over as a pad just in case. Is this good? What do other moms do with their budgets?

My son has in general always been respectful, kind, hardworking and grateful. After recieving his iphone and entering into the texting, facebook world everything about him is changing. 17 Year Old Wants to Drop Out of Track

I guess I'm not looking for advice since I know how I'm going to handle this, maybe just support that I'm doing the right thing!
