Worried About Husband

I called my husband to make sure he was ok on his way to work this morning because he almost had a flat tire scare and had to pull off the road to fill it up yesterday. I wanted to make sure his tires were ok this morning because he drives about 45 minutes into the city and I knew it would be a long drive on them. My husband always picks up the phone or at least texts me. I've tried to get a hold of him both ways and he will not answer. I have tried calling his desk phone, no answer. And he is normally at his computer to chat at this time, and he's not yet.

Does anyone have advice on what I should do to get a hold of him? I'm kind of starting to get to that freak out point!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Husband is fine. Thanks everyone for the care and support!! He was asleep in his car in the parking garage with his phone on silent. He was so tired that he decided to take a little nap before work and didn't get in on time. He's never done that before. Anyway, I'm glad he's safe. I've never had to worry like that before!

He will contact you if there is an issue. My husband always tells me, well if I am dead on the side of the road, what are you gonna do about it? Comforting, I know. But that's a man. If he had a flat, he will take care of it. Don't worry, he'll be ok :D

Take a deep breath. Once upon a time women let their husbands go off to hunt and not hear from them for weeks if not months. You can handle an hour or two of no contact, even if you are worried. The odds are really high that if he had a problems with his tires he is busy handling it. Calling his work is not going to help his professional reputation or assist in his keeping his lateness on the down low you know?

Do make sure to let the rest of us know how this turned out!

Have you heard of any wrecks over the radio or on the news? If not, then I'd chalk it up to traffic (not being able to talk while driving) and might have got caught up in something important the minute he walked in to work. I'm sure if you sent him an email he'll answer you any minute now.

Um, you could tell us if you got a hold of him or not.....

I ad a day like this the other day...he was oer an hour late from work. Anyhow I ended up driving the route he would usually take home. packed up all thekids and went didn't find him along the road nore at work. get home about 45 min later an he is sitting at the table eating. Forgot he had a chiropratic apointment (at an unusual time) anyhow I know the worry feeling but everything ended up being just fine. I'd wait a while longer and try again. He's probably fine.

Call the main office number & see if he's made it in. If not, just sit back & wait a little bit to hear from him. Freaking out will not help anyone in any way so it's just stressing you out. It could very well be that he needed to stop somewhere to change the tire, or there was an unrelated accident on the way which held up traffic, who knows really.

He's a big boy. I'm sure he's fine.

My guess is he got pulled into a last second meeting. That happens to mine more times than he'd like.

Can you call the front desk at his office and see if he clocked in?

You dont need to be worried about him. He is probably just busy at work, or stuck in traffic behind some other mess. If he was the one in the accident, you would get a call from the highway patrol notifying you. Hes carrying his wallet with home phone number and the cars registration tells them who it belongs to. They would call if there was a problem. He may have dropped his cell phone into his cup of coffee, or toilet too.. Maybe he went to buy you a dozen roses just to tell you he loves you. Who knows. But dont worry. Youll find out soon enough. Its probably nothing.

Does your state department of transportation post accidents on their web page and have it's highway cameras live online? Here, in MN you can check out spots online to see where the delays, accidents and police calls are. You can find out pretty quick what may be going on the road if you know the route he takes to work.

He may have had to get a tow to a repair shop if he was unable to fix his tire. And as others have said, forgot to turn his phone on.

maybe he forgot to turn his phone one, or bumped it and shut it off. Mine has done that before. Then at the office he might have had to do some things right away or stuck talking to someone, that could be why he isn't on the computer yet.

Call the main office and ask for his extension, if he has one.
