We are dealing with a neuro for 2 out of our 3 children...completely seperate non-related, non-genetic issues. Our oldest daughter just had a 48 hour EEG done 2 weeks ago (she has epilepsy and neurocardiogenic syncope) and she has a follow-up appointment on the 12th. I get a call from the neurologist's nurse telling me that Emily needs to see her cardiologist (@ Riley Hosp). When I asked if there was a problem she said that she couldn't really say -- the doctor told her to "just give me a heads up" that our cardiologist is going to be scheduling an appointment soon. If you have read any of my previous posts -- we have A LOT going on -- and I am SOOOO STRESSED OUT. I feel SOOOO GROUCHY (and the thing is I do like these people...I just don't want to wait all weekend or who knows how long to see WHAT we are going back to the cardiologist for). I am stressing myself out by thinking they must have found something on her EEG that needs the cardiologist's attention. Sorry - just had to vent! Have a great weekend ladies!
I would call the doctor's office back and absolutely insist upon speaking to someone, whether it be a doctor or anyone else that can give you more data. I would NOT wait the entire weekend not knowing. That was cruel and unfair for them to do to you.

I would call that doctor's office back and ask to have the doctor call you and let you know what the head's up is for. I do understand that the "nurses" cannot tell you anything, but the doctor can tell you over the phone, even if he has to say this isn't my area but I see some .... going on.
Just request the doctor calls you and lets you know what is going on...
We are here for you, vent all you need too!

Calmly call the neuro's office and ask to speak with either the doctor. The nurse really cannot (legally) give you more info than that! It sounds like your neurologist didn't want a call from the cardiologist to come out of the blue.
If the doctor is not available (very likely on a Friday afternoon), call the cardiologist's office and ask that someone contact you first thing Monday morning. Be honest about your anxiety over this and let them know that you will be calling again on Monday if you haven't heard by 10:00 am.
Good luck.

yes, you're venting & that's okay....that's what we're here for.
Before the neurologist's office closes today, call them & insist on more info. Tell them that it is unfair to leave you hanging & worrying thru the whole weekend. Tell them that you want the truth, rather than thinking thoughts on imagined worries. AND tell them that you want to hear it from the neurologist & not a nurse.
Thru it all, stay calm & do not raise your voice. Honey before the hook, please! Good Luck & Please keep us updated.....
