I see it everywhere this Christmas. I see 4 guys with beards looking scruffy. I understand it's a TV show but what's it all about? Why is everyone watching it?

What can I do next?

It's a really kind of fun show to watch. I'll never forget when the grandpa told two of the grandsons that they should "go on down to the Wal-Mart and buy [themselves] a personality." LOL!

It kind of reminds me of a modern day Beverly Hillbillies. The cast is down-to-earth and pretty organic, I think. If you're into guns, hunting and a outdoorsy type of lifestyle, you can relate to them. Mostly, it's a different style of life than what is normally presented on t.v.

Personally, I am addicted to Call of the Wildman and Pitbulls and Parolees, both on Animal Planet. I love these reality shows. The people in them have some pretty awesome, different, ways of living and thinking.

Duck Dynasty is pretty popular. They are selling stuff everywhere.

Gamma,

I thought it was going to be a stupid show...it's not. It's funny and good.

I don't watch it all the time, but I wouldn't skip over it.

The Robertson's - that's the family - got rich off of making duck calls. They have a VERY grounded family. The episode I watched that changed my mind on the show was when Willie was taking his daughter (teenager) shopping for a homecoming dress and he was steadfast in how his daughter was going to look, act, present herself...

Phil - the dad - may look gruff - but before his beard? He was a football player and was offered a job with the Washington Redskins...he's the one who started it all...with one duck call!!

It's a very funny show. It's a bunch of stuff rolled into one.

It is supposedly a reality show, and it can be entertaining.

However, everything on there is not true. We have friends who live in West Monroe.

In one episode, the men took a helicopter to Plano (where I live) to meet up with a business man regarding some deal. This was fake. The "businessman" is an acquaintance of ours from West Monroe and we recognized him instantly. We've done business with him as well as attended holiday parties, etc. Plus, he was dressed up in a white suit like someone off the Dukes of Hazzard and that just does not happen here.

Behind the scenes, one of the wives approached another friend of ours in West Monroe and wanted his house. He said it wasn't for sale. She came back and asked what would it take. He described is wife's dream house and the Duck wife found one. They sold thehouse to the Duck wife. The home they sold is beautiful and located on a large site with a pond. I can't believe she found a house in the same area that one upped our friend's dream house but she did!

I think there is a lot of reality in the show but it is also tweaked to keep it interesting for the viewers. You know the Kartrashions do a lot of tweaking for their show. However, Duck Dynasty is much better that the Kartrashions.

I actually love the show, they are really funny and have good family values. You can tell in the last 2 seasons that they are setting up the scenarios, it is starting to feel a lot more "scripted" than the first couple of seasons. But it still beats the heck out of the Kardashians!!!

They are the family behind Duck Commander (Duck Calls) that are very popular. The Grandparents are very grounded and laid back even with all their wealth. The whole family has good values (Christian based values), I believe 3 out of the 4 sons married their HS Sweethearts and the 4th is also married and a preacher.

I like it because they are more like regular people who also believe in being good not just acting it. Yes they are better off financially but they haven't always been and it shows. Also I LOVE Uncle Si - he is such a trip :) Watch a few episodes it is good clean fun.

It is a reality show that is a bunch of rednecks but they have good values and morals. It's funny, clean and something that will entertain the entire family.

Yes.. pseudo "reality" show. The others pretty much covered what the show is about. I understand that all of the adult sons are college graduates, so don't be fooled by their organic, down-home personas.

I am not a "fan", but my daughter (12) likes it. When she turns it on and I am nearby I can't help but listen in. I find it refreshing (compared to most of the other junk on TV) and catch myself laughing, quite a lot, too.

It really is good, clean fun.
Ever heard of making wine from walmart grapes and sugar? Well... when you buy a vineyard and the grapes aren't ripe, and you don't have the patience to wait...

It's the new Honey Boo Boo! Lol
Wait 15 minutes and they'll be done.
Show is already getting tired & repetitive.
But they've sold O. million dollars plus in merchandise sales, Jack!
In my experience, no O. really admits they watch it, but people sure know a lot about it!

My 9 year old raves about it because it's her teachers favorite show. I know she has never seen it. We don't watch a lot of tv.
I did catch an episode one night while the kids were in bed, and it just seemed like another reality show. It may not be scripted, but it seems that the family may be getting ideas from somewhere.
A lot of the reality shows seem heavily scripted to me. I'd rather watch a rerun of golden girls, lol.

It's a reality show that follows a financially rich extended family and their neighbors. There are probably many reasons people get hooked on reality shows. This show has great advertising which no doubt helps.

This family has guns and hunt. I'm guessing one reason people watch it is for the vicarious thrill it provides. Here is a family with money who live a different lifestyle. People can identify with them.
