I bought some cute tops on clearance without trying them on (oops). They do look cute, and they are dressy enough for me to wear to work. The problem is the top half (that starts just below the top of my boobs) is all mesh. What can I wear under that! Do I need to find a thin t-shirt? I did try them with just a bra, and I just don't think that's appropriate.
After reading what I just wrote, I feel like this is a really stupid question. I guess I'm just wondering what others have found that looks good. I've tried a few different shirts under, and it's just quite obvious that I'm wearing two shirts and looks weird. What do I do?
Added: I'm actually looking for ideas other than tank tops and camis, as they really look the same as a bra. All you see are the very tops and the straps.
I really like the sleeveless shell idea. I think I'm just going to have to find the time to take my tops to the store and try things on. I looked at some on-line, but I don't think I'll know if it works unless I try them on. I really hate clothes shopping (hence the reason I bought the tops without trying them on).
What about wearing something over them, instead of under. Would a shrug or a suit jacket look right? Then you could wear a bra under them (if you need one) and with the jacket over, no one would be able to tell.
Wear a sleeveless shell. That's what I do, especially with lightweight or thin (including see-through) jackets.
I think that would look a lot better than a tee-shirt.

My daughter has a couple of mesh shirts and she'll put a colorful tank underneath... looks great!
I have a few shirts that are "see through" or thin and ones that are supposed to be sheer. I usually just wear a tank top underneath.
how about a sleeveless shirt the same color as the mesh top?
