Hi all, Im not sure what made me think of this but Im very curious to know what Americans think of Tim Hortons. I am Canadian and live in Canada and if I didn't have access to my Timmys I think Id go a new kind of crazy. I know that there are a few states that actually have Tim Hortons but that It is definitely not like here where there is a Timmys at every corner and in every mall or gas station. Mmmmmm its so freakin good

So for those who have had it/tasted it/experienced it what do you think of it?

What can I do next?

While I love the donuts and bagels the rest of their food is, IMHO, inedible. The coffe, meh. It's always so freaking hot and I much prefer the taste of Dunkin, McDonalds or Starbucks. I do, however, love Canada and the Canadians!

I am not sure I understand the hype. It's good but not great in my opinion. It always amazes me how insanely busy Tim Hortons gets and like you said they are absolutely everywhere. I am a hot tea drinker so it is nice to be able to readily get a cup. Although I have to remember to ask for it unsweetened and without milk. The first time I got a double double I just about gagged. Maybe their coffees are better.

My dad was super excited when I lived in the Northeast and I took him to a Tim Hortons there. It made him nostalgic for his time spent working in Canada. He was like a kid at the candy store, wiggling in his seat and talking very excitedly.

The Canadians I have known are equally excited as you are and anticipate much pain if separated from Tim's. I worked with Canadians who would bring bags of it to the office for morning pots after trips back home. I would kid them, saying Tim must put crack in the coffee. They didn't laugh so perhaps I was onto something. I know whenever I see one I instantly think Canada, rather like the maple leaf or moose. Enjoy your Tim Hortons and may you never be separated for longer than tolerable.

Never heard of it. What is it? A restaurant? A gas station/mini-mart? A coffee shop?

Did I miss the "(Canadian Coffee)" in the title the first time, or was that an edit. I feel like I missed it and am an idiot. Anyway... Never had it. But I do like a good cuppa. Caribou Coffee is my favorite, but we don't have one anywhere near us. I love the Mahogany and especially the Obsidian beans!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, Tim Horton's. I am in Michigan and close to Canada...we are neighbors...HA:) So, Horton's are everywhere...and more are on the way!!!! YIPEE!!!!! In fact, as I am typing this, I am sipping on Horton's coffee. It's the BEST. I am totally addicted. I buy the large can of coffee all the time. If you came into my house, you would find Horton's coffee in the fridge. Unfortunately, my last Horton's coffee mug broke a month ago:( Anyways, even if I have Horton's at home, and I am out and about, I STILL stop and buy myself a cup of Horton's. Crazy, right???

Seriously, I cannot live without Horton's coffee....pure addict, here!

There's only one around here that I've ever seen and it's no busier or well known than any other small coffee shop. I don't think it's even its own shop, I think it's paired with another brand (maybe an ice cream chain?).

This is Dunkin' Donuts country. There are 4 Dunks in my town and three of them are on the same street. I actually don't drink coffee so I can't compare the taste but the Dunks loyalty here is ridiculous.

My cousin works in Times Square and bring Tim hortons to our house once in a while. I rate it a step below Krispy Kreme but 5 steps above Dublin donuts. My kids and I get excited when we see her walk through the door with it, that's for sure!

They also make single-serve coffee pods for my coffee maker. It's good, but not my favorite of all the brands offered. But definitely good.

We had 2 in our town (mystic, ct) but they have since closed. Coffee was good but I think I remember the donuts were kind of small and not that great. Someone told me they defrosted the donuts that had been shipped in. Still, it was good.
