Teething Tablets - San Rafael, CA

I have a basket that has all of Finn's "stuff" in it (powder, teething tabs, Tylenol (for fever), lotion, nail clippers etc.). When Finn is getting a tooth, he asks for the tablets and points to the bottle. If he doesn't have anything coming in, he totally ignores the bottle. I'd say that is as close to a testimonial from a child as you are going to get.

They are completely safe! Much safer than giving tylenol or motrin each time. I used/use them a bunch. It actually worked better than tylenol or motrin for my son. They were a hugh life saver for us!

We have the teething tablets and they seem to work for us. We got mixed answers when we asked the doctors but we can tell a major difference when we give them to our daughter.

They didn't work with my oldest two children when they were teething, but they do work with my son, even when he was getting four teeth at once! Sometimes I use both the teething gel and the teething tablets (both by Hyland's). If that still doesn't work, then I'll add Tylenol, but give the tablets time to work before jumping in with the Tylenol. Hope that helped!

I remember giving them to my daughter and they worked for her. She also liked them, so it wasn't like I had to pin her down the take them.

We used them and they definitely seemed to help, and I didn't see any adverse affects. My sister-in-law swears by the Hyland's teething tablets and the earache drops.

All my friends swear by these! I use some homeopathic teething drops by Gentle Naturals and I think they really help too. My son is getting his 2-year molars right now and whenever his teeth hurt he asks me for them, so they must be making him feel better! I definitely feel that they are safe. I asked his dr. about them and she said they were fine but didn't believe they would help much. I just feel way better about using herbs than giving him tylenol all the time!

I used them on my twins and it worked. My really good friend who runs a daycare told me about them and she uses them with no problem.

I would give my kids three at a time and it work. They hated the oral gel stuff so this was much better.

I've used them with both my kids...and they work. About the "safe" part...when my daughter was just starting to teeth I was working with her to get her take a tablet (probably the first time) and left the bottle on the table. Imagine my surprise when I realized my 3.5 year old had eaten about half a bottle while my back was turned (this is NOT his usual MO). I called the poison control center and they basically told me it was no big deal, although I'm sure they didn't use that specific phrase. So while the authorities are unconcerned about an overdose, they really really do seem to work. Teething is really painful (more for some than others), do your best to keep them out of pain and give them the teething tablets as soon as you realize that's the issue. It's easier to keep out of pain than to get rid of it when you already have it.

Clear back when my son was teething (in the early 90's), those teething tablets even back then were the only thing that worked with him. I had even tried all of the things like ora-gel, and none of them worked. They worked great!

Yes, they worked great and I believe perfectly safe.

Hi Am using them now with my 3 month old and have for 2 other kids-they are great you may need to give every 15-20 min until they feel relief-If it is a small baby I put like 10-in a eye dropper bottle and add spring water and give a half dropper full-

Wow, you got a lot of responses. They are the best and the only thing that worked on my kids too. They are homeopathic so they are really safe, better than Tylenol and Motrin for sure. I put one under my tongue to try it out and it dissolves so fast. Good Luck.

I love them! The are one of the only things that worked for both my teething kids. They are totally homeopathic and totally safe.

I used them for 2 of my 3 kids and they worked wonders! My first would take them right out of the palm of my hand and put them in his mouth himself. They dissolve very quickly, no taste (if I remember correctly) or smell. I recommend them!

I would be lost without the Hylands products. My first son did great on them.I also used the Hylands teething gel which I believe is better by far then the orajel. Its all natural and very safe. I found out about this product from my friend who has triplets. I use them for my second son and im not sure they worked as well with my first baby. Every baby reacts differently. I use grip water for my second child. I tried one myself to find out how fast it disolves and what it taste like. They are very safe. My older son ate an entire bottle without my knowledge and nothing happened. I found the empty bottle in his room and he was fine with no issues. Just very calm after that.

So far since giving birth to my daughter 21/2 years ago the only medications that I have used for her were all the Hylands tablets and cold remidies for her. the only thing I have over the counter is tylenol and the stuff for the vaporizer. that's it. I had talked to her pediatrician about using the meds and he had informed me that if they seem to work well for her with out the side effects of drowsiness and things like that then i should continue. I hadeven used the childrens formula of the calms forte to help her get to sleep at night after we had been involved in a car accident. so they have seemed to work well. I have called the poison control center about those types of meds and the only thing they can say about an overdose of those would be sleepiness. since they are all herbal there really isn't much of a chance for anything severe going on if in case of an accidental overdose.

I used them when my daughter was teething, and they seemed to work because I look back at the teething stage and have to say it was easy! And I plan on using them when my daughter gets her 2 year molars...but you should still see what your pediatrician has to say about them... Good luck!

I have given my 8 month old the homeopathic tablets since he was 4 months for teething. They're all-natural and I think they are safe. They were highly recommend by many moms to me. They do help but only for about 10 minutes (a lot like Orajel). My son loves to chew on wet washcloths & the super cold teething rings. Good luck!

I gave those exact tablets to my son when he was teething and it seemed to be the only thing that worked. I had no problems at all. Each child is different so I say give it a try and watch.

They are perfectly fine, althought they did work for us. I am using Tething Relief by CAMILIA (found at Pharmaca and Whole foods) it has worked for us and have recommended it to other moms who swear by it too. My little man is 8 months and 3 weeks old he also likes frozen apples to chew on or refrigerated teething toys. The apples i give to him in a mesh bag that you can find by the childrens isles at Target, I am drawing a blank on their name, but they are made specifically for babies to chew on.

I used them on my son, and they worked great. Many homeopathic solutions are not FDA approved because they are food or herbal based. I had no concerns or worries. Doctors don't always understand such things and are only trained to think of prescriptions as the solution.

They work like a charm - even for big kids getting molars and adult teeth :)

I've used Hylands homeopathic remedies for 13 years with my kids. The teething tablets work GREAT. They also work well for irritability. My daughter was 16 months old and fussy and nursing didn't help so I gave her the teething tablets and it calmed her down. Even when my kids got older. I've even given it to their dad when he is irritable.

I was ready to use Hyland's teething tablets until I read the label while shopping at Whole Foods and found that they contain parabens (a group of chemical compounds which are widely used as preservatives, especially in cosmetics. In addition to being used in cosmetics, parabensparabensparabens are also utilized by the pharmaceutical industry, and they sometimes appear as food additives as well. Parabens have been a topic of some controversy, due to consumer concerns about their safety, which explains why you may find products voluntarily labeled as “paraben free,” using their ingredients as a selling point for concerned consumers. However, if parabens don't bother you then I think they are probably a good product. I have used homeopathic camilia drops by Boiron (available at Whole Foods and Pharmaca I believe) with some success. I did also find another brand of teething tablets (without parabens) although I can't remember the name. They helped somewhat. However, when things got bad, I used Tylenol (without dye) available at Walgreens. That seemed to work well. Otherwise, a frozen wet washcloth is a good option or else a Munchkin Fresh Food Feeder with frozen pear or apple worked great for us and also was great to have when my son started on solid foods.

Since the tablets are not FDA approved there is a chance that they may contain too much of something, so be very carefull. I read on one of the mother's groups threads that a mother gave her son some to help with his discomfort and he started to have a reaction. When I gave them to my son when he was about 5 months it made him really relaxed, so that is good, but ever since I read that post it freaked me out and I thru them all away. I now just hive him children's Motrin or Tylenol.
