I am the mother of three. $ yr old girl, 2 yr old boy and a 5 month old boy. We live in the Folsom area and I am looking for lots of fun things to go do with them. Whether it be for a few hours or weekends trips somewhere, does anyone know of fun places to go? We have taken them to Santa Cruz (which they loved), Disneyland (they loved, of course), Bounceopolis, water parks, parks, the Zoo's, Fairy Tale Town. We are looking for new and fun things to do. I heard there is a train exhibit down in Folsom. Has anyone been there? Any input would be great!!

What can I do next?

I have been to the train exhibit in Folsom and it wasn't that great. My kids are 5 and 3 and they showed zero interest. If I were you I would wait until your kids are a little older to bring them to the train museum. As for other local things to do I think you about listed them all. One thing my family likes to do is bike riding. If your daughter can ride a bike then you can stick the two younger ones in a buggy. Bring a picnic lunch and it makes for a nice activity. We also love swimming so we are constantly going to water parks or swimming pools. Another idea is to get together with other moms at a park or something for a playgroup. Parks seem to be a little bit more fun with friends around. I hope that helps!

Gilroy Gardens in Gilroy is a fantastic amusement part designed entirely for younger kids. Plenty of rides, enough to keep you busy all day. We took our kids there last year and they loved it and will be returning again in August.

You could easily combine this into a weekend trip down to the area. There is a terrific children's museum in San Jose that would be along the way or you could go to the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

Hi,
My husband races up at Placerville Speedway at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds and this Saturday there is a pre-show in Honor of a past promoter Al Hines at Family Chevrolet Dealership in Shingle Springs where the kids can meet the drivers take pictures with them and get autographs. Then the races are at 6pm up at the fairgrounds. The gate opens at 5pm to get in.

PS: if you come dont sit on the bottom rows of the grandstands cause you will get pelted with mud - :-)

I will be painting faces for the kids there that day too. My husband is one of the vetran racers there and long time favorite #85 "The Happy Camper" CJ H.

Hope you could make it....A.

If you are willing to travel far, there is the Stockton Kids museum, Marine World, and the Jelly Bean factory. As for things close by, see if a local fire station is doing a tour. The kids always love the fire trucks and they can learn a little about fire safety. For things closer by, Folsom and EDH always have free concerts Thursday or Friday nights in the summer. The Strikes bowling place has 1.50 games on Sunday mornings. There's always Wacky Tacky in Roseville or Chuck E Cheese or John's Incredible Pizza. The Aquatic center is open through summer. Or, try a gymnastics class with the kids on the weekends. Those are just to name a few.
