I am expecting my 2nd baby in late summer. We picked girl names no problem, but are seriously struggling with boy names. We want something that's NOT COMMON, but also not strange. We want to use Rabon as the middle name, as it is my grandfather's name, so whatever we choose needs to flow with Rabon. Any suggestions for boy names? So far we've come up with Lane Rabon. My son is Kalven Jaxson. Also, the cousins are Gavin Allen, Lochlan Allen and Hudson Lee, so those names are all out. Thanks in advance for any ideas you have for me!
Thanks to everyone for your suggestions. I lost the baby on Sunday. Our hearts are broken. It was my 2nd miscarriage in 4 months. We will eventually try again, and I will keep your suggestions in mind then. It will be a while though.

Wow! I read all the responses and didn't see my son's name, William. He is now nearly 12 and I am not permitted to call him that anymore - it's Will and suits him quite well. I think William Rabon sounds great! When I was growing up (I'm closing in on 50), all the William's went by "Bill". Not so anymore. I don't meet many Wiliams but it is a noble name and when Will was learning to read, he loved to see how many times his name was in a book!!!
Have fun and enjoy that little boy!

I have always loved the names Shayne and Patrick. Either on of those would sound nice with Rabon I think.

Lance is nice but unusual. Most important is to check child's initials for future use as a grownup. I have four grown children, five step-children and twelve grandchildren (and taught lots of children, too!).
Sorry so many at once, just went and researched boys names ending in N and its the names that came up with.

Well, my husband and I are trying and if we have a boy we want to name him Atticus, like Atticus Finch in To Kill a Mocking Bird. Other cool, but odd names; Spencer, Potter, and Reid. I hope this helps.

Wade, Braden, Quinton (they call him "Q"), Tanner, Haden, Colton, Jackson, and my own son's name - Ian.
Good luck!

My 2 boys are Spencer & Lynden. You have heard of them but they are not so common that your child will have 5 other boys in his class with the same name. Good luck.

Hi J.! When I was looking for boy names for my oldest son, I also wanted a different name. The names on my list were: Garrison, Triston, Galvin, Gage, and Garrett. I obviously was heading toward the G name. I chose Garrett after watching Message In A Bottle with Kevin Costner. Kevin's name was Garret in the movie and I just added the extra t at the end. I've also heard some different boy names over the years that I thought would be good names: Trey, Keign, Dax, Mason, Donovan, Brock, Logan, Bailey, Nate, Nathaniel, Nathan, Zane, and Max (Maxamillion). Good Luck with your name search! ~T.

Hi J.,
I love picking out names! I have had 7 children and belabor over this decision every time. I also like uncommon names, but hopefully not strange. My two boys are Simon and Sullivan (the last one id Irish, which we are, and means dark eyed and quiet - he is our ony brown-eyed baby out of 7!) We call him Sully for short. I am very happy with both of these names. I have never met another Sully and only 2 Simon's. Other names which I have considered, but never got a chance to use are:
Leo(Latin, lion-like, fierce)
Oliver(Latin, loving nature)
Otto
Murphy (Irish - fighter)
Salvador (Italion - savior)
Zeke (love this one! Hebrew - friendly)
Max (Latin - best)
Anyway, I hope you like these ideas. Have fun picking one out. I always had to have a few picked out and try them out on the baby once I saw him/her. You have 1-2 days after the baby is born to pick it out. Don't stress over it, just have fun. Stephanie

Luckily the N ending names a sooo popular right now. I have Brandon, Logan & Aiden. If I had more I would be torn. But here are some idea's of names I've seen or heard. Mason, Caiden, Calvin, Peyton, Clayton, Dustin, Galvin, Grayson, Jaydon, Kaydin, Layton, Austin, Morgan, Quintin, Quinlin, Weston, and Wilson. We had a lot of luck in the baby names books with Irish/Gaelic names and Old English names.
Enjoy your new baby!

hi! picking out names was always the hardest part for me. me and my husband can't agree on any!! i have a ten month old named Lane. I just love that name. Here are some of the other names that I thought about... Cason, Ian, Dakota, Aden, and Jase.
I'm sure you will find one that fits perfect for your baby. I know alot of people who have waited until the baby is born and then name them by what they look like. NOOO way could I ever do that.
