I remember once someone asking what they thought of the name "Strummer" for a boy. Don't know if they ever ended up using it...
Congrats!!!!
Would like to hear them ! Am looking for a creative or unusual name for our son due Nov 24th - nothing too crazy like some celebrity' s kids name but not a "common" one either. Has to be at least 2 syllables cause our last name is one syllable. Also my husband is a musician so would love to maybe encorporate music into the kids name.
For those who asked my husband plays the guitar and sings (what more can a girl ask for???)
Thanks so much for all the responses so far!! Before I posted this we did have a few names in mind - Emerson, Greyson (which a couple people mentioned) and Nevada. Also did have Gibson, Lyric and Jagger in the mix (either first or middle name) also. I'll let you know which one we decide on!!

Congrats!!!!
I'm a little over protective about putting my kiddo's name out (there are only 6 of his name in the country, and most of them are in their 80's & 90's, so he's a little too easy to find).
That said... my son's name is Roman. Like Marcus, or Lucas, or Marcellus, but less common.
My boy is Pierson, but I liked the recommendation of Gibson. There are any number of guitar heros that would also make great names - Dylan, Lennon, Hendrix, Beck, Gilmore,....
Let us know what you choose.
C.
If I had it my way my boys would have been...Tripp and Coop...but hubby didn't like them...so we have a Korbin Shay and a Wyatt Brodie!
Coming up with names is seriously THE hardest part of having babies...
Good Luck!
~I like the suggestion of Gibson.
Our boy being born in about a week will be Rowen Grey!
Recently, someone on this site was asking about the name Greyson... that's a nice-sounding name.
My son has a little friend named Kaiser, who everyone calls Kai. I think that's traditional and unusual at the same time.
Let us know if any of our suggestions appeal to you!! :)
My name is Jaron. It is pronounced ya'RAWN. It is an old old hebrew-aramaic name meaning 'to sing' 'to sing out loud'. My mom wanted something different. I was born on November 26th. I too, a musician. Ironically enough, I'm ALWAYS singing.
I don't have a boy, but I heard the name Kieran when I was younger and the name stuck with me.
I like the suggestion of Gibson (as long as you can avoid associating it to Mel Gibson!).
I was listening to the Beatles today, and Hey Jude came on. Jude would be a neat name, although 1) not two syllables and 2) Jude Law - maybe too Hollywood.
Since your husband is a musician - maybe Lennon?
Cole or Armstrong are good musician referencing names. I have two boys, Brody and Parker. Brody isn't too common here but I know in some areas it is. Parker wasn't too common until recently. Spencer, Everett (we considered this one but I knew my husband's side wouldn't pronounce it the way I intended!) are others we considered with our second.
I don't have a son but if I were to have had one his name would have been Callum. It has nothing to do with music but I love it. Cadence. I guess it is more often used for a girl but could be used for a boy. Euphony? Adagio. Legato. Opus. Tempo. Tremolo. Those are all the musical terms I can think of at the moment. Fender?
Hmm - 2 syllables -
Milo
Spencer
I like Jhengo and Thelonious too
Yes, I like jazz
: )
I have a Miles...and some others all ready mentioned....
Not music related, but my youngest son's name is "different", it's Adler Greyson. My oldest son is Ayden.
I also like Reed, Nolan, Rylan, Rowan...I also really like Presley. There are so many cool names, good luck!!
My son's name is Elias (Ah-lie-us). I love his name and Eli is a good nicname!
I also really like Dominic and Silas too!
Don't have a son, but hope to one day, so I have been thinking of names for years! Since your hubby is a musician, what about Lyric. I'm not musical at all, but have always found that to be a neat name.
My fav is Wesley!!!!
I like Keaton for a boy, not really musical but it's different.
My son's taekwondo master has a teenage son (this kid is a joy to watch when he spars he's so light on his feet and fast as a whip) and he also play snare drum in the high school band. He's a very nice nice young man. His given name is Lee, but he's known everywhere by his nickname (even sewn into team shirts) - Pookie
My son's name is pretty uncommon. In three years I have only heard of two other people with this name. "Davin" We got this from a musician from Texas named Davin James. Have you ever heard of him.
Good Luck!
My oldest son is Nixon and my youngest son is Kane! Congrats on your upcoming bundle! :)
My boys' names are Davien ( I put David & Damien togeather) and Evandrix ( we were going to name him Evander but people thought we were naming him after the boxer). Try putting two names togeather. We have 4 kids so I doubt we'll have more, but if we do, I thought Greyo would be cute for a boy.

My son's name is very common but I started calling him, Monkey, when he was little. As a toddler, he became Monk. Which opened the door for introducing him to the most famous "Monk." Thelonious Monk. Last school year, he wrote a paper about an influential person the Civil Rights Movement and, of course, he wrote about Thelonious Monk. He loved sharing what he knew about Jazz music and Thelonious Monk's role in history.
Anyway, musically speaking there can't be a cooler name than Thelonious Sphere Monk. Congratulations and good luck.
~K.
ps. My Monk's b-day is Nov26.
I wanted to name my son Chance, but the husband didn't agree. So we settled for Aiden Chance instead. I also like Cash and Blue for first names and middle names.
Fun question! Maybe a bit too creative, but couldn't pass up the chance to share them.
Baldwin (piano brand)
Vox (Latin for voice-1 syllable, but maybe a unique middle name)
Octavian (for octave)
Treble
Jaron = means 'to sing'
And you can't go wrong with Elton....what a legend :)
My sons name is Vincent, i also like the name stoker,
Not music related, but I liked some of the Irish names - Declan, Kellen, Lachlan.
Aston (also a very sexy car!)
Eldwin (just cute)
Boston (piano brand)
Garrison (just like it)
Garrett (cute!)
Ellington (piano also)
Everette (American made piano brand, also a great name!)
Milton (piano)
Axl, Hudson, Garrett, Carter, Ryder, River, Caleb, Gage, Colton, Ireland... What's your husbands name? Maybe you can combine his in with the name you choose? My stepsons name is Damien and my son is Tyce Alexander and my daughter is Teagan Nicole.. Let us know what you choose! Good luck!
My son's name is Grayson.
I know you said 2 syllable first names bu,t Miles Gibson would be awesome!! I wanted to name my son Miles, but my hubs sister had a Miles. Cut to the chase we haven't seen them in like 5 years, so I could have done it.
Cody,,,,,I call him Cody boy
Georgie :)
He mostly goes by that but sometimes just George and we have a one-syllable last name and it works great.
Well the music link that came to my mind first thing was Drummer. Could call him Drum for short, it's close to Drew. But then maybe the kids would call him Dummer or Dum, maybe not such a clever first name.
Torence Chase
I liked the name Asher when my son (Vince) was in-utero. Being a Pink Floyd fan, I thought Sydney (Syd Barrett) would make a great girls name. Could, of course, be a boys name. Melody would be good if you were having a girl. If you go the music route, tell us more about the kind of music your husband plays or what instrument he plays.
update: What about GIBSON (guitar)
My first thought was Lyric, but I can see that has already been mentioned. If the baby were a girl I would suggest Harmony.
Other ideas are:
Reed,
Medley - Often used in overtures, a composition that uses passages from other movements of the composition in its entirety.
Glissando - Sliding between two notes.
Clavier - The keyboard of a stringed instrument.
Chord - 3 or 4 notes played simultaneously in harmony.
I also really like
Cannon - A musical form where the melody or tune is imitated by individual parts at regular intervals. The individual parts may enter at different measures and pitches. The tune may also be played at different speeds, backwards, or inverted.
Good Luck
I like Jagger! Some other unique but not weird names I like are Cullen, Sebastian, Blake, Mateo, Gage, Ryder, tyce, Gibson, Grayson, grafton, Kellen, Leland, Easton, talon, Landon, and Everett. Congrats!
I like to think my kids have unique names. Nothing too far out there. My daughter's name is Lyris (Leer-is) not( Lie-ris) never heard it before at all. It's derived from a musical instument called a Lyre. Nobody liked it in the beginning and everyone loves it when they hear it. My sons name is Jules, it's not common but I have heard it on occasion. Go with what you like don't ask anybody for their opinion because they will give it to you! It took us forever to agree on names, but we are VERY happy with what we chose.
My neighbor's son is Axl, as in the lead singer of Guns N Roses. Good luck with your baby!
Wanted to name my 2nd son, Sawyer, but my husband wouldn't go for it. Also like Braxton, Zane, Zander, Jackson, Tanner, Dawson, Ryder, Cruise/Kruz, Cash.
I have a friend named Tal (rhymes with Al). have a cousin named Rhyden (re-dyn). Another named Draven (rhymes with Raven).

Ruari (pronounced like brewery with an R at the beginning). Irish for Red King.
Congratulations! My son's name is Briley...but may not be what you are looking for and is becoming little more common. I think that Mccartney is a good name..huge Beatles fan's of course I like it for a girl too! I like it so much I just don't know why I haven't used it..well besides the fact that my kids names both start with B's. lol I don't think I can break the cycle, but I may use it yet maybe as a middle name on my next one.. who knows. I have a few others Gavin, Braylon, Gibson (after the guitar brand not Debbie). Well, Good Luck with the name game! Just play around with letters incorporate family members initials and so on to get creative. Hope you find that special name.
I knew someone that named one of their twins after the lead singer of ac/dc. =) Bon (for Bon Scott). Just thought I would throw that out there.
My Grandson's name is Phoenix.
My DS best friend in Kindergarten is named Roco pronounced Rock-O =-)
I love it and he's so darn adorable!
My son's name is Banyan.
my son's name is Xander.
Gavin, rowyn, rhyston (like piston), brooks
my son used to have a unique first name, but it is becoming more popular now: Malachi. I have never met anyone with his middle name: Cain.
Malachi Cain. I still love it and he is 6 now!
My son's name is Adrien. There are a lot of Aidans and a couple Adrians, but never one that is spelled like mine. I thought it was such an elegant name for a male. It really suits him, too. He's athletic, bright, and has cute Justin Beiber like hair(hahaha). Most importantly, he's a super nice and loving boy. Our last name is one syllable, too, so it flows nicely.
Congratulations on your baby boy!! We had our son last year in July, we named him Denham, pronounced "denim". Some other names we pondered were; Tristan, Hunter, Langston and Rocko just to name a few. Good Luck!!
My son is named Owen. We've only met one other Owen under the age of 70 in the last 8 years, so it's pretty unique.
We have 5 boys:
Mallory (army counselor)
Madison (Son of a great soldier)
Christian (little Christ)
Jadon (God has heard)
Gavin (White Hawk)
If #6 is a boy he'll be named Mason (stone worker)
I also like someone's suggestions of Gibson.
My son's name is Gareth - not very popular here in the USA - I haven't come across anyone else with his name here but when we travel back to Australia it is more common there as well as in the UK. (It is a Welsh name)
WE named our son Bailor never heard of it as a name except the college in tx.
My son's name is Colby. I use to teach (before my 3 kids) and never had a Colby in class. :) Good luck.
Well, I don't think it is unusual but many others do. Our oldest is Kieran.
My son's name is Hayden, which 3 years ago sounded unusual but has now become rather a fad!
I LOVE the name Hudson, and my friend's named their 18 month old boy Jett, which I also think is pretty cool.
Good luck - I like your choices. Although I will say that where I live, Greyson is extremely common in little boys under age 5. My son has a few in his pre-school class, and two of my close friends have Greysons. Perhaps that is just our area (Dallas)?? For what it's worth - I think Gibson is awesome :)
K
I have a son named Mavoric. It was my grandfather's name and his nephew's name. It is not MAVERICK. I have had to say that a million times. It is pronounced Maaav-or-ick. I can tell you I have never met anyone else with this name, except family. It is a conversation starter-to say the least.
my sons name is kyler, i dont think its to unusual but i wanted to name him killian wayne or hunter rowe. but kyler was the only name me and my husband both liked:) good luck!!!
My boys are Cameron and Keaton. We have only ever run into one other Keaton and it was last summer, so he was 2.5 by that point.
Friend named her son Mason Harper :)
Phoenix and Maddox are my boy's middle names. I know a Drake, Jax, and Gryffin though
