I was 31 when I had mt full hys. I had endometriosis. After my surgery the doc put me on the patch, it only worked for awhile then I had to try somethin else, well that kept on after trying 5 different doses, pills, different docs...the last one said "well we can't put your organs back" Seriously??? Now I am using a daily gel, it keeps away hot flashes and all, but I don't feel like I should at 34 yrs old. I just want to feel my normal self!! I will be trying to find another doctor, but live in a small town, so I will have to travel a bit. My question is, has anybody else gone through trying all different things and it only working for a few months?? I just feel so weak, tired, moody...I eat very well, attend a gym everyother day, get lots of sleep. It seems like whenever I take something, like a daily vitamin, or when I was making protein drinks, it acted against my HRT and felt even worse!! I don't get why that was happening, so I quit taking anything extra. Thank you so much, I could use all the advice I can get !!

What can I do next?

Hi Gina,
I am also sorry you are going through this. I hope your hysterectomy was necessary. Sometimes it is the only option.
I am not a doctor and I am not advising you to get off the hormone therapy.
However, I chose a solid supplement program 15 years ago partly because every woman in my family except for an aunt who is about 85, had a hysterectomy and I didn't want that. Before, I had horrible problems with my cycle and also was told I had endometriosis. After a couple of months, all those problems went away. Almost 2 years ago, my period stopped when I was 54. Other than a couple of hot flashes, I have sailed through menopause and feel great.
If you would like to know about the supplements and how to have more energy I would love to help.
Good luck and God bless.
Victoria

Have you had your thyroid checked out. Also try a Natural Doctor. Maybe they come up with a serum for you that will help. Can I ask why they took your ovaries if you had endometriosis. I had my hysterectomy 10 years ago and I feel like a million bucks most of the time. But I they did not take my ovaries I also had endomtrioses You have been thrown into menopause at such a young age. Start reading and researching what you can do for yourself. I feel horrible for you.

I have a friend who had to get a hysterectomy at a young age. She told me that the doctor put her on synthetic hormones and she ended up on a couple of different anti-depressants. Once she went to a special doctor who dealt in the bio-identical hormones she was able to start the hormones and quit the other medications. She said she never felt better.

Has your doctor checked you for anything else? I only ask because I also had a hysterectomy when I was 27 (partial), and afterwards still had a number of problems, including extreme fatigue. After 10 years of different and seeming unrelated health issues, I found out that I have Lupus. I don't know that you have Lupus, of course, but maybe there is simply something else going on and the hysterectomy is getting the blame.

Good luck :)
