The south beach diet is really great and makes a lot of sense. I lost tons of weight (I forget how much) when I did it a few years ago. But, you really need to treat it as a lifestyle and not just a diet. If you really stick to the "rules" and eat what you are supposed to, it really works. Just remember that you should watch your portion sizes as well. I would be doing the south beach thing right now, except I decided to go Vegan instead (no eggs, dairy or meat). I lost 20 pounds doing this, and the weight has just stayed off. Good luck!
