Hi ladies,
Has anyone use/used a wilton silicone cake opan? I bought the mini cupcake shape, that can be placed together to look like a cake -- anyhow, before I could actually use it, my husband, nicely, put them away and threw away the box -along with the directions.... Now, I do not regularly bake - but thought it would be fun to wxperiment with my daughter -- so this makes it harder for me, since i really do not know what i am doing...... can i just follow the temperature as directed on the cake mix boxes, or since they are silicone - do they have a different temperature for baking???

I hope to use them while on my maternity leave -- thanks for the help =)

My sister in law used the silicone pans all the time and loved them. She kept telling me I needed to toss out my old pans and get some. As I recall she said you just use them like a regular baking dish. I always set my temp on my oven 25 degree's lower then it calls for for everything...Go online and look up the pans you will get all the information you need and more than you want...

They are different, I can tell you that for sure. Although I have the opposite cake pans. THE GIANT CAKE PANS! Oh they are fun. My instructions say the normal temperature of what the recipe calls for. As for timing. . . that's a whole other book. I would set it for the what it says then check let bake for 10 minutes then every 5 to make sure they are perfect. Keep track of how many sets of 5 you do. Pretty much thats what I did with my giant cupcake (except I did it for 45 min then every 10. 2 hours later the cake was done!) Good luck!!!!

I would go to the website for the company and see if they have instructions on there. I have done this for items I've bought used and it's worked well for me.

Silicone is fine. They can be used up to 500 degrees. Use them as you
would any other pan. Love mine.

I would go online and get a number to contact Wilton.

Hi - I have the larger cupcake cake pan and it works great.

Have a look here to see if they have the instructions for the mini ones - http://www.wilton.com/shapedpans/browse.cfm

Hope they have it.
