Dear Women,

I am in my 6th month of pregnancy and my OBGYN suggested that my hubbie and I begin to think about interviewing pediatricians for our son who is scheduled to arrive in November. We leave in San Pedro but we are also considering pediatricians in Lomita, Torrance and Long Beach. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
M.

Dr Flores' office is FANTASTIC!!! Our son sees Dr Segil, but all of the doctors, nurses, and staff are outstanding.

I have heard great things about Segil and Flores as the other moms suggested. But they aren't on our insurance plan. We have Cigna HMO and go to Dr. Lin, Wagoner, and Culmer in San Pedro. I really like them, and they are in San Pedro. It's nice not to have to drive far when your kid is sick. They are also conservative with antibiotics, your kid does not get them unless absolutely necessary, which is great.
Only complaint I have ever had is that when our 3rd child was born a couple months ago, none of those 3 docs was on call to do the hospital visit. They are affiliated with some other practice in Torrance and some old crusty doctor I didn't care for was the one on call, so we had to see him in the hospital.

Hi-
I highly recommend Dr. Donne Segil in Palos Verdes. She is in the same practice as Dr. Jim Flores who is awesome. Dr. Segil has 2 young sons so she is very understanding. She has great energy, very smart and compassionate. My 2 1/2 year old daughter loves Dr. Segil along with all the other doctors in the practice.

I love the nurses and reception staff too. They are great about answering all my crazy questions and squeezing us in for last minute appointments. They were fine with us spacing out our vaccinations too.

Hi. I recommend Sylvia Mansour. She's in Torrance, off Earl St. next to Little Company of Mary. She's awesome and open to spreading out the vaccination process.

Congrats!

I highly recommend the office of Dr. Jim Flores in Rolling Hills (we live in Torrance; we have friends who live in San Pedro and they see Dr. Jim). We see Dr. Segal and she is wonderful (both doctors have toddlers/infants). Dr. Jim is the one who will visit your son at the hospital. He saw our son the day before we were released and much to my surprise, he called our house 2 days after our release to see how our son was doing and if we had any questions (he called on a Saturday). They have a separate sick room. The nurse is amazing and has a wealth of information.
