My daughter was in the hospital for RSV for almost 2 weeks. Any suggestions on how to keep her well now that her system is down and will be prone to sickness for awhile.

What can I do next?

My daughter also was hospitalized at 2 months of age for RSV. At 8 months of age, she was still dependant on nebulizers and struggled to breathe all the time. Her pulmonologist kept incresing her dosages, which led to acid reflux. I was venting to my chiropractor one day, and he asked me to bring her in. He saw her twice a week for a month and within that month she flourished! I take her once every other month now and she has never had a lung problem since! He explained to me about the nerves in her upper back that supported her lungs had gotten pinched, probably at birth, which impeded her lung function. Once that interference was taken away, her body healed itself. I have told lots of moms about this, and every mom who has followed through with it, has gotten a much healthier baby!

Fortunately the spring is coming and flu season will be over. Just make sure to get her plenty of fresh air with some nice walks during the day. I would try to keep her away from other children if you can. If she does come in contact with other children make sure they wash their hands and try not to let them touch the baby. Good luck I am sure she will be fine.

I don't really have advice for you. I just wanted to wish you luck and say that I understand your concern. My daughter was hospitalized for a week with RSV in December. She was 2 months old at the time. I just tried to keep her home as much as possible and not let anyone touch her unless they'd washed their hands. I made sure my 3 year old washed her hands or used sanitizer as soon as she walked into the house. The 3 year old is the one who brought the RSV home to us all in the first place. Thankfully, the baby has been healthy ever since. Also, I'm sure you already know this, but breastfeed her if you can.

Sorry to hear about your daughter's illness, A.. You're so wise to be thinking about what her body has to go through now with the recovery process. One thing to consider is providing her with nutritional supplements, to support her immune system. If you'd like some specific recommendations, feel free to send me a private message.
Blessings,
A.
