Does anyone know if you would see the whites spots in every photo? I was looking at photos of our family while at the hospital after the delivery of my 1 month old--and saw 2 photos of my 4 yr with very obvious asymmetric reflection. Thought I would see if anyone had any personal experience with. And if you saw these photos would you also be concerned--or is it just a camera anomaly? These are two separate photos, too. But we've been unable to replicate! I have an appt for my 2 yr old for tomorrow morning and plan on bringing in the photos, but am interested in what you all think--slightly anxious about this....

So What Happened?

Please to announce the Ophthalmologist appointment went great, his eyes are just perfectly normal. I was shocked at how fast the pediatrician moved, he was really concerned too. I think he called 3 x's to get us in to this Urgent eye appointment. the actual eye doctor said she didn't have an explanation for the photo, but was VERY supportive of me checking it out. better safe than sorry with something like this she said. It could be very aggressive without early treatment....thanks again ladies!

I did a short google search and from what I saw it could be either the camera or Retinoblastoma. Does he have any symptoms other than the photos? Taking him to the doctor to be evaluated is a great idea. From what I read it seems like if it is Retinoblastoma, it is very treatable. Let us know how it goes. Sorry I don't have more information/ advice to give. Good luck!
Take care

I think this is too late, but if not, just bring in your 4 year old to the 2 year old visit. The doctor will quickly look in his eyes and tell you if they are different or if it is just the camera. It is easy for photos to be asymmetric but check his eyes to be sure.

ETA: So glad to hear the good news!! Thanks for the update.

There are different variables involved with how the picture was taken. The flash needs to be on, red eye reduction off, dark/dim room, etc. So, it's hard to say. It typically shows in most photos. However, it certainly is something that I would want checked, regardless. You need to make sure he sees a pediatric OPHTHALMOLOGIST... not an optometrist. Keep us posted?
