I have been seeing Dr. Gorka Zurinaga in Roswell for my hypothyroidism ###-###-####). He is a great interenist that specializes in issues of thyroid. I have also seen Dr. Ernest Beasley Jr. (make sure it is JUNIOR as his Dad is also there), an endocronologist in the Northside hospital area who I really liked as well. I was recommended to see him by my OBGYN when I needed a biopsy after a bad ultrasound. Depends on where you live!

Dr. Donahue in Canton (off sixes road, ###-###-####) is an excellent doctor and works with thyroid problems. Even if it is not real close to you, I would recommend you give him a try. He has worked better for my friend than any she has found (and she is a searcher).

Hi H.,

While I don't have a recommendation on what doctor to use I do have one on what doctor NOT to use. I was seeing Dr. Victor Silverman (Center for Metabolism, Endocrinology and Diabetes-over by Northside and St. Joseph's hospitals)for my Hyperthyroidism/Hashimotos and at first visit I liked him a lot. He seemed very attentive and concerned. However, all follow-up visits were not as good. He always seemed distracted and in a hurry. Another reason is the staff there. It is absolutely horrendous trying to get a call back or any assistance from them. The minimum I've had to wait on a call-back was 3 days and have waited even up to 2 weeks (of which I called several times and complained about the wait). Then when I tried to get a copy of my records so I could take them with me to a new doctor, I waited a little over 2 weeks for that. I definitely would NOT recommend them!!! My neighbor used to use them as well for her diabetes and has since changed due to the same reasons I mentioned. Please let us know who you find and what you think of them as I am still looking for another doctor myself. Good luck in your search for a new doctor!
