Hi, we am new to Amherst, NH and looking for a preschool for our son who will be 4 in October 2009. Any advice or recommendations (i.e. Pinehill, Montessori, World School, etc) would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I've heard great things about the Milford Montessori, but have no direct experience myself.

Hi Laurie,

Both of my kids (3 and 5y/o) attend the Colonel Shepard Montessori School in Milford. We actually commute 20 minutes for this school, it is just fabulous. My daughter went there for preschool at 4y/o and this year is doing their Kindergarten program. My son has been wanting to go for a year now, we decided to enroll him just a couple of weeks ago. Even though it was a mid year enrollment, he's doing wonderfully and loving it. Montessori is just wonderful in terms of letting your children take control of their learning and actually create a love of learning.

I would encourage you to take a tour of the school, it's just beautiful. If you want to message me personally I'm happy to talk with you further if you have questions.

good luck!
N.
