Has anyone ever used Portrait Innovations in Highland Village? I need to take my daughter for pictures, but can't afford an expensive session. Their prices are low, but I'm wondering how the finished product looks. Any feedback? Thanks!

I have a friend who used them and loved them. However, I have a professional photographer who is VERY reasonable. She did my daughter's senior pics for $55. She took 1/2 hours worth of pictures, did some cool editing and GAVE ME THE DISK of pictures for me to print them. She doesn't do any printing just the photography. Her name is Chera Nall and her email is ____@____.com can look at her work http://chera25.com/galleries/
These are all the people's pictures she has done. I can't find the link for her website sorry!

We use the one in Plano & we love them. They take a lot of pictures & the hardest part is narrowing them down because they are all so good.

L.,

We have used Portrait Innovations in Colleyville for a couple of occassions. We have had a great experience with them. For example, my in-laws and their friends are portrait type people and seem to think the more you spend the better it is type of thing. We got pictures taken there, and they asked what photographer we used (as in professional). I think they are great for the $.

Hope this helps!

You are only allowed to use their special promotion of $9.99 once per month, so that is what we do. We go once a month and they are never rude about is only spending 10 bucks, and the pictures are always wonderful and the quality is just as good as any other place. They are so nice in there and I have been so many times that I know them by name.

I really loved the pictures that they took there, but they sold me the CD of pictures for a very large price (over $100) and when I got home the quality of the CD was terrible - email quality only. They had not mentioned this upfront. I was going to use them for my Christmas cards, but the images were so low resolution that was impossible. I tried to return the CD, but they wouldn't take it back and said that every photo studio around does the same thing. I called 5 other studios (two of which I had experience with high resolution CDs) and all of them said they sell the high resolution images. I ended up having to go to another studio to retake the Christmas pictures because of this and they never took back the CD or refunded my money. I thought the whole thing was kinda shady. Again, the pictures they took were great and I was really disappointed not to be able to use them.

We used Portrait Innovations in Colleyville and were really happy with the results. If you want to buy more than one pose, it can get a little pricey. For one pose, it's a great deal! We ended up spending over $100 because we wanted several poses. We've also had our pictures done at Target. They didn't turn out quite as nice, but for the money, it was great! We spent $40 and got a lot of pictures in several different poses. They usually have a coupon online. Good luck!

My son-in-law, daughter, and grandaughter had Christmas pictures taken there last year and they were good. They were able to get the 5 month old to smile. My friend uses The Picture People across the street in the Shops of Highland Village, and raves about them as well. Good luck!

We have used the one in Plano since my twins were 1 month old. I think they do a nice job, but they are certainly not the same as an independent professional photographer. You need to figure out was is more important, price or the pics themselves. Their photographers are trained, but to me they are not "professionals". We've looked at the photos afterward and seen grandma in a shadow...and not real excited about the placement of people. You have to select the pics after your session (I think that is typical of those type of studios). The more you buy, the cheaper it gets. It can get confusing on your first visit as they rattle off all the pricing as you sit there and try to keep your kids busy while you are looking at pics. The review process can take a long time. We've bought a ton of pics from them, so we've gotten the CD for free. They told us (maybe I asked) that the CD is encrypted - so you can't print out high quality pics. However, it does allow you to come back to get reprints made at their studios. Otherwise, your pics will be gone if you don't have the CD. When you reprint from a CD...the pricing starts all over, even if you bought a ton from them in the original session (which I think bites). I like how the photos are available in 30 minutes.

Its a nice open atmosphere, and I think they can do a nice job with kids.

I think the 9.99 package is great. With no sitting fees, regardless of the number of people in your pic, I think it can be a great place to get "decent" pics done on a frequent basis.

If you want high quality CD pics, then I would shop around. There are some independent photographers who are extremely reasonable and give you the pics on the CD.

If you plan on going there near the holidays (when everyone else is doing their xmas postcard photos)...then you need to call ahead and make an appointment.

Don't know much about Portrait Innovations, but I highly recommend Kiddie Kandids at Babie's R Us in Lewisville. They are great with the kids and the prices are very reasonable. You can usually find/get coupons as well (check online). I love that they can crop and make changes to the pics after they've been taken. Good luck!

We went to Portrait Innovations in Colleyville for my son's 1 year pictures. The pictures turned out wonderful. The catch is that the photographers take about 100 shots and you have to narrow down from those 100 shots which ones you like so it can be time consuming. We had such a hard time doing that so we walked away spending a lot more than we want. But overall the experience was great and I was very satisfied with the quality of the pictures. The photographers were great with working with my son, too. Best of wishes!

I didn't use the one in highland village, but I did in houston (I'm pretty sure they are all the same). I loved them! The pictures were not only great, but once I picked the shots I wanted they had them ready in an hour. The pictures turned out great and the photographer was great with my 2 year old son. There were 4 of us and we really had a great time. Hope this helps.

I have used the one in Colleyville several times. You can't beat $9.99 for a TON of pictures - and we have a large extended family and I still have pictures left over each time! It does get expensive as with any other portrait studio if you get multiple poses. I go in wanting only the $10 package and usually end up buying at least one more sheet of another pose since they all turn out good. The selection process is long tho so have snack for your child ready so they can eat and then play (they have legos in Colleyville) while you decide (or better yet have someone come with you that can take your child for a walk outside or something to help). My sister-in-law used the one in Highland Village and her shots were all great as well. I was told you can only use the $9.99 package (and you don't need coupon) once a quarter. The CD if purchased (or free if get over $100 package) is not to be used to print out prints (you can view them, but not supposed to be used to print your own things) it is for you to take back to them to make new copies, etc. The ones on the CD are the actual pictures they took so they are not cropped, have the effects, etc to them just raw images like you have on your digital camera. Hope that helps! I haven't been disappointed! Print quality is MUCH better than Sears 1 hour take home today, I don't recommend Sears unless you do the wait 2 weeks for them so they come from print studio b/c they ones they do in house to take home same day are terrible!

I love that place, we have been using them ever since they opened. They will take a million pictures and then display them on a huge screen. They can zoom in on any picture you want as well. Yes they have great deals for $9.99 and they will never push you to buy more or make you feel guilty for not. The problem is choosing the one pose for that deal, so many of them are good. I have never been able to walk out with just the special package.

Now on the other hand, my friend does, she is able to choose. Shes never bought more than the cheap package which is how I know they are nice about it.. Good luck

We've used the HV branch several times. Factor in some time to look at ALL the pictures they take, because there will be a TON. It takes a lot of time and patience to go through them to find the ones you want...while keeping the kiddos occupied. They print them the same day, so you don't have to wait.

Good luck with your session!

I have been there several times with my 20 month old. We started going there when he was 4 years old. That is the only place I go now. They are awesome with him and the finished product is good to. Another plus is that you can take your pics home that day.
