Planning My Daughters 6Th Birthday Party Is Going to Put Me 6 Feet Under

I am going nuts trying to plan my daughters 6th Birthday. I found a place I love in downtown Mckinney called Made of Sugar and Spice but my husband said going all the way to McKinney is out of the question. I have looked into Sweet and Sassy but would like some more options as $369 for 8 girls and $24.95 for each additional girl is a little steep. Any ideas???

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I have called and emailed my garden tea room and can't seem to get anyone to call me back. Not impressed! I found a lady that is going to come to my house and do the party. She brings everything and comes to do a photo shoot with my daughter prior to the party so she can have personalized invitations. www.buttlerflyglamour.com I can't wait and my daughter is so excited.

I had a zooniversity party for my daughter when she turned 6. It was a lot of fun and the kids really enjoyed it. My daughter got to pick 6 animals that came to her party. http://www.zooniversity.org/

I am not sure exactly what you are looking for, but my niece had her 7th Birthday Party at Into My Garden Tea Room, 1017 East 15th Street
Plano, TX 75074-6221, ###-###-####. It is in downtown Plano. My sister said it was great and affordable. She had a tea party and the lady sat with the girls some of the time and taught them etiquette.

I would keep them busy and fed-at my house! I think girls still like make-up and playing dress-up. Why not enlist the help of some of the other mothers, or your friends, set up an area with make-up, jewelry, clothes, hair accesories, even wigs, and let them dress up, then make a runway and have a fashion show, have rockin music for them to walk to, and have someone do commentary. Have kareoke, or play your own music and teach them to line dance,or get that Wii sing and dance thing, so they can enjoy that-and I know they will! Have games, like a cake walk, but give GREAT prizes ( like movie passes, gift cards for McDonalds, even $5 bills wrapped as gifts-kids always need money). Make sure EVERYONE gets a prize, however! I would set the food up in festive bars: perhaps a taco bar, a hot dog bar, a baked potato bar, an ice cream sundae bar, even a cupcake bar (bake white and chocolate cupcakes in ice cream cones, then offer frosting flavors and sprinkles, cookie crumbs, etc. to top them with). If you do the cupcake bar I would have dessert boxes so each girl can take her cupcake home with her as a party favor. Still have a birthday cake w/ice cream as the grand finale, to sing the birthday song to your little princess. Have lots of festive, colorful balloons, and streamers for decorations. For something different that I have not seen at any party, order loomaloons-balloons that light up from the inside! Online at loomaloons,com-and they are not costly. Be fun and upbeat, and keep things moving and lively, have music as a background for everything! Make sure the ladies helping you are very upbeat. For a lot less than what you quoted, you can get creative and give your daughter a great experience at home. People have forgotten what we did before all of the other party options were available. I am 53 from a family of 5, and all our b'day parties were at home, given by my mom. She worked hard on a small budget, and we had a BLAST! Write me if I need to elaborate more. Best of luck to you!!!
