I'm hoping to find a location where I can set up a party for my daughter. She is wanting to have a dress up tea party. Does anyone know where I could rent a room for a few hours? Church, hotel, small restraunte private room...I just don't want it to be attached to any other kind of party place like bounce house or gatti towne.

What can I do next?

We also used Into My Garden in downtown Plano. It's a "real" tea party. It was my daughter's 6th birthday and she had 3 friends and Grandma and her aunt there (as well as mommy and baby sister) It isn't cheap, but it's manageable. The girls loved it. They all felt so special. They still talk about it and it's a year and a half later! We did Girly Girl in downtown McKinney for number 7, but we did a rock star theme. It's really cute, but for a tea party I would use a real tea room.

Into My Garden Tea room has birthday parties in old downtown Plano. You might want to check with them. I took my daughter to a Park & Rec tea there and we had a wonderful time!
Good luck!

We had our daughter's 8th birthday Par-Tea at Into My Garden in Plano. They did a fantastic job and everyone had a ball! They aren't cheap, but are definitely worth the price!

Hi M.,

I am the owner at Alice's Tea Shoppe (in Downtown McKinney, own building and parking lot, just a block east of the square) and we specialize in children's parties. We do have separate rooms to cater a more private venue (at no extra charge). Our prices are very reasonable and often include party favors and crafts. The little girls (or boys) even enjoy putting their own tea menu together and often we include a cake as part of the package (depending on the size of the party). Please call me if you have any further questions, ###-###-####.

You can try Girlie Girl parties in downtown McKinney. They let the girls dress up in stuff they provide and do a craft with the girls, sit and have tea nad then take a picture for a keepsake.

Good luck!

M.,
Have you tried your local library? I live in Carrollton and have attended several birthday parties at the library where the parents justed rented a room for a low cost and it had a microwave, counter space and a large refrigerator. The even provided table and chairs. It was very inexpensive, especially if you wanted to do your own tea party.Go.od Luck

Downtown Plano has a few tearooms where the girls can dress up and have tea.

I think the one we always went to is called Teatime Treasures.

Enjoy!

I know of a lady who brings all you'll need for a dress up party, simply pretend. She should know of a building if you haven't found one already, or just have it at your church! That's where I always have our kids'! There's an Italian restaurant in Plano on Park and Legacy that has a room, there's also a coffee house across the street that's usually not too busy. Prestonwood has an open area next to it's cafe that we've used before for free and with no notice, it's open to the public, but it has a play room near it. That's all I can think of for now! Oh, and the south fork hotel has a party room.

I don't know what area you live in, but in downtown Wylie there is a new restaurant called Taste of Home (about 7 months old) in a lovely older home (100 yrs old) - a British lady uses their overflow room to do tea parties for little girls. I don't know exactly what activities they do at the parties, but in the past the girls have gotten to take home a real China cup and saucer that this lady buys at thrift shops in Great Britain.

FYI - the restaurant used to be a tea room, but moved location and became a full time restaurant. If anybody wants to have a quaint dining experience, please visit them! They have now started to serve breakfast so they open fairly early. Top of the line chef. Small family-owned business, not a chain.

Unfortunate timing - opening right before the country dives into a recession - they could use the business -

One and All!!!!!!!!!!!! Please come and eat there!

I highly recommend Alice's Tea Shoppe in McKinney: http://www.alicesteashoppe.com/ Cyndy, the owner, is super nice and I'm sure would help you with a great party for her daughter. The whole place is Alice-in-Wonderland themed, too, which the girls would likely recognize.

If you want to go out to Grapevine there's a place called Let's Pretend in downtown Grapevine. We went there for a mommy & me tea a year or so ago, so I know they do dress up and and tea.

Into My Garden Tea Room in Plano is fabulous. My older girl had her 5th there and it was great. The kids have their party table and the gownups have their treats at a table nearby. They provide the cake, decorations, and a small gift for the birthday girl. She loved every minute and truly felt like a pampered princess. I thought it was great because all I had to do was show up, take pictures, and write the check! They have a web site - Google them.

Hi M.,
We did a Simply Pretend party for my daughters soccer team. They absolutely loved it. Here is the website: www.simplypretend.com. Pam is super nice and great to work with. She will be able to help you with all the prep work. You should look it up.

P.S. the girls were 5 at the time. They loved getting dressed up and having a tea party. We had one of the dad's be the waiter and they thought that was awesome.

I saw someone mentioned it but we had my daughter's fifth party at Let's Pretend in Grapevine. It was really neat, they dressed up, did make-up and tea and even taught them etiquite. They ended with a parade down main street. It was not cheap but reasonable I think.
