We played kiss the frog prince. It's played the same way as pin the tale on the donkey only I used a frog and put bright red lipstick on the girls. whoever got the closest to the mouth won. You could even just cut out lips and have the girls pin that on. familyfun.com has some fun ideas too including a cake.

I dont know if this really a game...but how about a small impromtu play? The girls can be different charactors. They could put on this production for the adult audience. You could easily write out a very simple script. I think that little girls who love fairies and dream about far away places, definitely have the right stuff for this. After all, what child doesnt like to have Mom and Dad "look at me!!" They LIVE for that!!!
If you need help with a script, let me know. All I would need to know is approximate ages, and a rough idea of how many girls. This kinda stuff is right up my alley!!!

hi I.. i had a princess party for my daughters 2nd b-day also. one of the games we played was kinda like hot potato, except we used a frog. i also found a pin the crown on the pricess at one of the party stores. in case you need a cake idea, i ordered one from HEB. they have a really cute princess cake and the girls LOVED it.

I did a princess party for my daughter last year. For her cake I went to great american cookie and they made one that looked like a crown with icing on it. I did little danty sandwiches like cucumber but not really cucumber sandwichs (my kids hates cucumbers)instead I just put different types of meats and cheeses on them.We made pink punch(strawberry breeze juice,sprite, and dry ice). Hobby lobby has great cookies cutters and you can even find one that look like crowns and wands and things of that nature. You can use them to cut sandwiches,pizza, cookies and whatever other foods you decide on so it all stay in the princess theme.

Get ready to have a good time. I had a Princess Party for my 4 yr old this past yr. It was held at a place called My Party Palace. They dressed up like Cinderella, Belle, Snow White, etc. We had a Tea Party. The girls were shown how to hold a tea cup with their pinky's out. They also modeled their dresses. Karaoke can be fun.

As for the food, I took finger sandwich's, chips, and punch. The custest thing was the cake. It was a princess doll with a cake baked around it.

Everything you need for this type of party, you will find at Wal-Mart. Just go to the birthday decoration aisle and you will have plates, napkins, streamers, crowns, gloves, you name it. The bakery can take care of the cake. One stop shopping.

My grand-daughter turned 5 this year and my daughter put on a princess fashion show! All the little girls came dressed as one of the Disney princesses. The moms (pretending to be hair dressers, manicurists, etc.) did their nails and hair and makeup and then they had the fashion show where they walked down the runway and modeled their outfits and then the "master of ceremonies" announced them, what they were wearing and said a little something about them. She found a tent/runway which made it more fun! They had so much fun that her little friend had the same birthday party a few months later! Here's a link to the tent/runway. If your daughter's favorite color is pink I suggest pink punch, finger sandwiches with ham (because it's pink) and put red food coloring in some ranch dip to change the color to pink. Easy and quick!

hA i dont have a girl but i just reaqd this yesterday in a magazine. That she would reward her daughter for something by preparing one of an adult friend to be a a princess (BELLE< CINDERELLA, etc) And allow her daughter to talk to her on the phone. i thought it was a great inncentive but it could work for a birthday party too.

I would do finger foods like sandwhiches, cookies. You could even cut the sandwhiches with cookie cutters like a crown. A game could be to decorate there own crowns. Buy a bunch of little things and glue and let them decorate there own. That would be cute!

If you will go on line to the Food net work.com and go to Sandra Lee's Simi Homemade Cooking, one of her shows was all about food for a Princess Party. You will have to look for the title of the show or else type in "princess Party".

Take large pieces of cardboard (probably from a big box, if you can find it) and cut out to represent Cinderella's carriage. Spray paint them white and then decorate with paint or embellish with cheap jewels (or various do-dads that you can find at the craft store. Once that is complete, attach to a wagon. Give the girls rides up and down the driveway or the front of your house, if your street isn't busy.

food needs to pretty and petite, examples:
carrot coins- carrots that are sliced in circles
baby carrots
chicken drummies
mini pigs in the blankets
bake cupcakes using timy muffin tins.
rename the food, Look for Princess books

decorate with a lot of white and pink netting and tiara's.

Michaels carries a color your own castle that is like a kids sized castle fort that you color. What kids doesn't like to write on the walls? Also, Familyfun.com has all sorts of recipes and games for princess parties. I particularly like the Towering Sand Castle Cake.

Have you ever played that game at company picnics/ parties where you have a card taped to your back and you have to walk around asking yes or no questions to figure out who you are? How about that game, but with the cards bearing names of princesses? Or you can play a game where you stuff balloons with slips of paper, only one of them with a crown/tiara/"princess" on it, and the one who pops the balloon with the special slip of paper in it wins a prize!

As for food, I don't have any good suggestions. Anything with a princess theme would be good, like mini pizzas with a crown made out of bell peppers... something like that. Good luck!!

Everyone likes a pizza, also you can go for some McDonald`s. Take some caprisun, chips,and stuff kids like.

I am a professional children's entertainer and I host princess parties for kids. Depending on their ages they may not want to play tons of games especially if they have dress up items and crafts to do but one great game is princess bean bag toss. You can find it on ebay or anywhere online. Just type in the name of the game.

As for food go with finger sandwiches. Think tea party. Peanut butter and jelly, egg salad, cheese sandwiches all cut into strips or squares.

You must have mini cupcakes and mini muffins as well! I recommend Cupcake Couture or Sugar Hill Bakery.

Don't forget your "tea". Get a punch bowl and fill it with pink lemonade or fruit punch and top it off with scoops of rainbow sherbet ice cream. It will be a hit!!!

I don't know what your budget constraints are, but I've seen "Castle" bounce houses you can rent, 4 hours for $99, I think. EVERYBODY loves a bounce house, and the castle one would go PERFECT with your party theme.

My girls have a 'princess tea' on a regular basis. They love little cakes like the prepackaged ones (only we are now gluten free, bye bye little premade cakes) and tea party sandwitches and Celestial Seasonings peach tea. I put ice in the tea pot so it's not hot but not cold either and we have little tea cups I bought for $1 a piece at Garden Ridge. They also have a matching saucer for their food. You could send the cup and saucer home with the children as their party favor or keep them for future teas.

I bought a castle bundt cake pan at Walmart and my girls love that cake. I glaze it with a flavored sugar/butter glaze and then when the cake cools we put little touch up with the decorators icing. I set the castle cake on top a round or rectangular cake if I need more cake and then decorate the cake with green "grass" such as the grass tip for icing bag or coconut I died green. If I don't need the extra cake I just put the coconut "grass" on a cake plate and then set the castle on top. If you do get the cake pan, practice making the castle before the party because you'll need to learn how to cook it just right and carefully slide the cake out of the pan without breaking it. If the cake is overcooked it breaks easily.

I think with food and crafts and cake and gifts and dress up you won't really need to do much in the way of games...

I would suggest having a tea party. You can find little tea cups and saucers. (They can take this home as a party favor.) Searve warm spice tea and have little finger sandwiches with a fruit tray. You can cut the sandwiches into shapes like stars or hearts.

There is a recipe in a Southern Living for Kids cookbook for rice krispy-type treats, shaped as stars w/ pink coloring, and then on a stick, like a wand.

Get a muffin tin and put fruits and veggies in it: strawberries, nutella, celery, peanutbutter, raisins, brocolli, carrots, ranch dip, apple slices, etc.... My kids love this and it looks pretty.

Google "princess birthday party ideas" and you are going to get an array of ideas that range from pricey to pennies. I think the actual site is www.birthdaypartyideas.com. But do the google and check out your list of options. There are a few really good sites out there to use as reference. I did my 7 yr's Star War theme party and everyone is still raving about it. All the ideas came from lots of the differnt parties I found on these sites.

I had a princess party for one of my daughters when she turned 4, I believe, and it turned out great. A couple of games that I loved were "Kiss the Frog" and "The Princess and the Pea." Kiss the Frog is like pin the tail on the donkey but with a cute "frog prince" cut out of green posterboard and stickers that look like a lipstick kiss mark. We just blindfolded and spun the girls as usual and they tried to get the kiss on the frog's cheek, I think. :)

Princess and the Pea was sooo cute. First I read the fairy tale to them in case they didn't know the story. Then we had 3 pillows lined up (the fancier the better) for the girls to take turns sitting on. One of them had a marble (pea) under it, and they each had to guess which pillow had the marble underneath after "testing" all 3 pillows. Be sure to take lots of pictures!

We did make a point of putting a pretty child size chair in front of a fancy background (tulle and white xmas lights, etc. draped around the mantle / fireplace) where the girls each sat with their little tiaras and wands/scepters and had a "photo shoot." I then put each one in a lacy / glittery frame from the dollar store and included it with the thank you note...

Food can be easy. Think about strawberry cream cheese sandwiches or just PBJs cut out with cookie cutters into hearts or stars, etc. and served on lovely plates or trays. You can find darling pink plastic "goblets" at the party store that make the table look very royal (I put each girl's name on hers in glitter). Then put yummy sparkling punch in them, of course! I think we had some chocolate (or white chocolate) covered strawberries, too, and there's always the birthday cake! There are some cute ideas online ~ I just ended up getting the HEB princess themed cake with a "real" tiara and wand on it.

Other random ideas: Decorate their own tiaras with sticky gems, etc. Our girls had a lot of fun dancing to classical music (maybe Nutcracker) ~ could play freeze dance. My boys dressed up like knights for the occasion...

Have a tea party theme! Little tea sandwiches (pb&j instead of cucumber or whatever), cookies, tea cups could be nice and to take home as party favors! Could also give little tiaras and play jewelry sets to dress up w/ and take home. For games?? Maybe a scavenger hunt? You could improvise the typical toilet paper bride contest into a toilet paper princess... they'd have fun w/ that! Instead of pin the tail on the donkey, do a tiara on the princess instead. A princess pinata. Use popsicle sticks and plastic bracelets for the passing game where you hold the stick in your teeth and have to pass the bracelet down the line... usually done w/ toothpicks and lifesavers but w/ younger kids, I'd use something less dangerous. :) Hope this helps! My daughter had a princess party in February for her 6th birthday. I went through Birthday express.com and bought these miniature bears the girls could decorate. they were 99 cents each, well within the budget. I also bought foam tiaras from Michaels along with glue dots, and rhinestone pieces for them to decorate as well. They played pin the crown on the princess, a game I got through another birthday or novelty website (I can't remember the name right now and I am at work). Another game you can play is the princess and the pea. REad the pricness and the pea story and then hide a green golfball under several pillows and of course whoever can find the ball is the princess.
For food, I made little sandwiches from strawberry cream cheese (because its pink)and used a crown and shoe cookie cutter to cut out the little sandwiches. They loved the shapes! I also had a veggie platter with grape tomatoes, sugar snap peas, cucumbers, carrots and ranch dip, and some chips. I made a punch with frozen pink lemonade, ginger ale, sprite, and a strawberry sherbert. I bought these princess goblets from birthdayexpress.com also so when I put there drink in them I also put a little Reddi whip. My sister made one of those doll cakes with a barbie doll too. My daughter was really delighted and the girls just loved it too.

We also did the "fairy godmother" thing where we applied lip gloss and clear nail polish to the little girls with parent approval of course. And gave them each a set of costume earrings. I found small canvas bags on sale at Hobby lobby (I think they were 8 for $6.00). I decorated the bags with the word princess written with a glitter pen. That was their loot bag which carried the lip gloss and nail polish and the craft items they made. The costume earrings were purcahsed at Hobby Lobby as well. I think they were 10 sets to a package for $2.99

I wouldn't plan too many games. Be flexible and enjoy yourself too.

We did a Princess Party last year and I had one of my friends rent a Cinderella costume at Lucy in Disquise. It was only around $20.00. We had "Cinderella" ring the doorbell and had our birthday girl answer the door. She then gave all the girls hugs and took pictures with them if they wanted. I had a book of the Cinderella story and she read the book to all of the girls. It was really cute!! My daughter still talks about when the real Cinderella came to her party! We also did toe nail painting...or fingernails if Mom said it was okay and I bought little crowns at the party store and we had a spot were they could get their hair fixed and put a crown on. The only game we did was put the crown stickeron the princess (like pin the tail on the donkey) and I think I found it at the party store. Have fun!

Food idea....I just heard this week. Buy pink plastic bowls from Wal-mart. Get some stick on sparkles and paint pens (they dry fast). You can do a craft where they get to decorate their own bowl. Then have an ice cream bar set up with all the fixings. Two in one deal!

I am also having a Princess party for my daughter this weekend. I am having all the kids go on a fairy hunt for little dollar store prizes. I also bought cheap nail polish for the girls to use...with assistance. I am doing pink lemonade and pink princess cake...basically pink everything. Hope this helps!

We did the following for my daughter's Princess party;
All the girls dressed up in costume - some homemade, some store bought.
To prove that they were princesses, we played Princess and the Pea. We hid pingpong balls under pillows on the floor and one at a time, the girls had to sit on them and feel the "pea". Once the girl found one, she was crowned. (Dollar store tiaras work well, but we also had a craft where they decorated their own posterboard crowns with stick on jewels.)
Next, they had to Kiss the Frog - in other words, it was like Pin the Tail on the Donkey but the image was a frog with a crown and the girls were given big kiss prints to tape on his lips.
I spray-painted an old high heel shoe, decorated it with sparkles and we played "Hot Slipper" (like Hot Potato) until it was down to 2 girls. Then whoever fit it best won.*
There was a scavenger hunt in the backyard for jewelry (dollar store again, old Mardi Gras beads and old costume stuff).
Lunch was finger foods; little sandwiches, vegetables with dip and pink lemonade in plastic champagne glasses. The castle cake I made myself using icecream cones for the turrets.
With all the stuff they gathered during the party, there was no reason for additional loot. I just provided plain bags (which they decorated and personalized themselves) and they used them to carry the scavenger hunt prizes, their own "pea" plus they had their crowns. *Plus, I had decorated both shoes so the girl who fit the first was allowed to keep the pair for her own dressup.

You didn't say how many kids were coming, but there is a really fun board game called "Pretty, Pretty, Princess" that accomodates four players. Enclosed are a ring, necklace, earrings, and a bracelet for each player (four different colored ones) and one crown. The winner is the first one to get all of the pieces of the jewelry of their color.

You could do this on your own and get jewelry from the dollar store. You can get a block from a craft store and put jewelry pictures on each side (bracelet, necklace, earrings, ring, "put one back," and crown) then they take turns rolling the dice and "dressing up."

I am sure you got a lot of ideas for food, but "lady fingers" are sandwiches cut into two or four with the crust cut off. Have a "tea" party with lemonade. For party favors, get dollar-store crowns. Good luck, have fun!

When my daughter was younger we went to a party that was "like" a princess party. It was a dress-up tea party. All the girls (and moms) were required to "dress-up" (not in pretend dress-up clothes, but very pretty dresses). For food we had finger sandwiches and cut-up veggies (which everyone enjoyed) and instead of a game there was a craft for the girls. Everyone made their very own beaded necklace. The one last thing we did was one of the mother's read the girls a book called "The Princess and the Kiss" (a beautiful story about teaching your daughters purity). No young girl should be without this book!

I gave my daughter a tea party when she was that age. I made heart shaped peanut butter sandwiches and had a heart shaped strawberry birthday cake. We also had strawberries dipped in chocolate, baby carrots with a ranch dip and and pink lemonade. We played dress up and we also made ribbon necklaces.. With the dress up and necklace making that took up a lot of time, so I didn't really need to do a lot of other things. By the time, we cut her cake and opened her gifts, the time had gone by quickly. How great you ae creating such a memorable celebration for your girls! It seems as though with greetings, games, crafts, food, presents, free play time together, and leave-taking that is plenty of stimulation for a party for children of any age. Perhaps too much, if one of your princesses for this party is the 2yr old.
It is my opinion, though a learned one, that birthday parties have become less about the social niceties of honoring the birthday child end enjoying each others' company (children and adults alike) and more about entertainment and "keeping up with the Joneses". Keep it simple applies here.

A friend of ours had one for his grils and they took off all there shoes and the dad had to find the Princess it belonged to. too cute
