Hi mamas,
I am reaching out on behalf of a family i work with. They need to find a pediatrician or a developmental pediatrician who accepts Medicaid in the North Dallas/Plano/Allen/Frisco general area. Apparently Medicaid's own directory is outdated, go figure. If anyone can make a recommendation, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Dr. Muhammed Majeed in Plano at coit and legacy is really great! The number is ###-###-####. I think they accept all forms of medicaid, but I am on Parkland and I they take that for sure. He is super nice and very thorough. He is open on Saturdays, too, which is awesome and everytime I have needed to reach him with an emergency, it has not taken him long to get back to me. I really like him and so does my son. Good luck in your search!
I just went through this same fun looking for a pediatrician to take Medicaid for foster kids. Not easy at all! I found one right across from Medical Center of Plano - Dr. Ali Shams. I have not met him, but know a couple of drug reps who say his he is a nice guy. The office staff seemed lovely. Dr, Shams is also a pediatric cardiologist. I also like the fact that he is directly across from the medical center and it's emergency room in case of emergency. there was another doc, who's name I forget, near Arapaho and 75, a woman, She would not sign the form I needed sign (because I did not yet have a child to sign in that day) and her office staff were not friendly at all.
Dr Colberg off of Windcom drive takes medicaid, or someone in his office does. I think the office name is Trinity Pediatrics. They also have an office in Carrolton.

Someone recommended Dr. Neal. I only took my son there once. What happened may not have been typical, but I was not happy. When it came time to give him a shot, a nurse came in and just held him down and another gave the shot. (He had never been frightened at a doctor's office before. The nurse would talk to him for a minute and tell him the shot was just going to sting just a little and he would be fine.)
Then Dr. Neal came to examine him. Without warning, he just yanked my son's pants down! My son looked at me like "why are you letting this happen to me?!" I said very sternly, "the doctor should have told you he would need to do that." Dr. Neal just mumbled something. Then he looked over my son's bloodwork and commented that it was perfect. When I said that I thought the vitamins we take had something to do with that, he said "you better quit giving them to him. His iron is too high."
So, as I said, this might not be typical. The person who had recommended him to me liked him.
If you have to use him, at least you can be prepard to prevent this from happening.

I second Physicians for Children on Preston Rd. in Plano. They are located just north of Legacy across from Children's Medical Center. Everyone there is very nice.
Physicians for Children in Carrollton on Old Denton road and Frankford also the location in Plano at Preston near Legacy...sorry I dont know the number but I started going when I had medicaid and continued once I got health ins and I think Dr Shridharan is amazing!
