We used to see Dr. Arispe and changed to Dr. Mary Dek. She is phenomenal; and what I love is that she has incredible partners as well. In case she is out of the office, etc. She is located off 168th and Dodge, at Village Pointe Pediatrics.
Hi,
I moved to Omaha this summer and need to find a great pediatrician for my 9 month old. Unfortunately, I'm sometimes pegged as a "difficult" parent because I'm doing a modified Dr. Sears immunization schedule and like homeopathic medicine. Does anyone have any suggestions for a pediatrician that will work with parents like me? My daughter's due for a check-up soon. We have Blue Cross coverage.

Dr. Fran Harrison in Omaha or Dr. Andrew Maxwell in Council Bluffs. I worked for Dr. Harrison and take my daughter to Dr. Maxwell. Both are great doctors and very open to modifying shot schedules. Good luck, hope you find someone you like! Dr. Maxwell's office # is ###-###-####, I am not for sure on Dr. Harrison due to their office moving.
I love our ped. Dr Michael Moore w/childrens phys. Dundee. There are 4 doc's in the office and so far all (including nurses) have been great. He's great about giving you time to ask questions and answering them w/all the facts that you need to make an informed decision. Someone else suggested this but I would consider where you might want her to go for hospital care if it ever needed and make sure the ped. has privelges there. Another consideration that I think is important is where you live/work in relation to the office.
My frieds takes her girl to see Dr. Arispe (which was recommened severl times) and they really like him. However she said he has a pretty strong personality and you either like him or do not.... just hear-say as I've never met him but just thought I'd add that to the note since she told me that when I was looking for a dr. Good luck!
Hi S.,
I highly recommend Dr. Gina Rizzo-Coffey at Boystown Ped. ####-###-####. We also do not follow typical immunization schedule and Dr. Coffey is defiantly on board. Good Luck and welcome to Omaha.
I have a friend who is into homeopathic medicine and she takes her kids to Dr. Arispe at Physician's Clinic. My daughter also sees him and we have liked him.
We loved Dr. McCann of Children's Physicians. She's at a rather new clinic located in LaVista around 96th & Giles. Their phone # is ###-###-####. I'm not sure how she is with the modified immunization schedule, but I would guess she'd be flexible and understanding. I absolutely loved her for my 3 children. We'd still go to her if we were still in Omaha.
Hi S.,
I have an excellent suggestion. My husband and I have chosen not to do immunizations with our 4th child until he is older. He is now 18 months old. Our pediatrician supports us with our decision and everyone in his office is supportive of this decision as well.
He is Dr. Emillio Arispe with Physicians Clinic. He is located near 90th and Dodge in the Regency area. The phone no. is ###-###-####.
I want to say that they will give you literature on Vaccines at all the well baby checks, but it's in our file that we don't vaccinate, so he doesn't even ask us about it anymore. I love NOT being pressured about it. I am a nurse and my husband is an attorney. My husband and I are intelligent and we have read up on vaccines and we are making an informed decision. We've vaccinated all our other children on schedule, but we're waiting with this one. We have blue cross.
Hi S.,
I use my family practice doctor for my son. Her name is Dr. Angela Law and she practices at Lakeside Hospital. I really like her, she has 2 children and is younger. I also use her for my doctor which worked out well when I was breastfeeding and could call her with questions. I too am using the Dr. Sears modified schedule and she has no problem with it. I find her very patient and takes time to answer all my questions. Their number is ###-###-####.
Good Luck!

I noticed that some people have recommended Dr. Arispe. I used to work with him at Methodist for quite some time and really liked him. I used to call him "Guy Smiley" because he smiled so much and his face squinched up when he did.
I really like my doctor...Katherine Anglim. She is open to you taking the lead but will also give you facts and statistics about things you are considering so you can make an informed decision. She is with Children's Physicians on 138th and Maple. One thing you will want to consider is where you would want your child to be treated if they needed hospital care and then make sure who you choose has privileges there.
