I am curious how third deliveries went after reading about #2 on other question. Should I race to hospital at first contraction? :) thanks

What can I do next?

My 3rd was induced and was slightly longer than my 2nd - from the start of the pitocin to birth was 10.5 hrs. My 1st was 32 hrs, my 2nd was 9 hrs.

I had lots of warning. I went into prelabor almost 17 hours before I had my baby. I only had about 5 hours of active labor, but I did have constant contractions, about 10 minutes apart, for almost about 17 hours.

My third was premature emergency c-section.
2nd was 3 hours, 1st was 18 hours.

Although, labor doesn't always get faster and faster between births. My cousin just had her 7th with a longer labor than for some of her other babies.

I'm sure no delivery is the same for anyone, even if they are the 3rd baby. My third took longer than my 2nd. But my water broke (which hadn't happened at all with my other 2 pregnancies) a week early. So when that happens, you have to go to labor and delivery any way. I went in at 4am and had the baby at 5pm. I labored pretty slowly with her!

I woke at 5:30am to pee of course, but I didn't turn the light on and I guess I didn't flush bc my hubby went after me and came out and said there was a lot of blood in the toilet. We rushed to the hospital and I was at a 3, yeah, didn't have him till 9:30 that night....so, it was longer than my other two in total labor time, BUT when it was time to push, wow things were soooooooo fast. They were yelling for my doctor and she did not even have time to double glove. I was basically fighting not to push, and one push and out he came, it was crazy fast in that way! Good luck!!

Was your 2nd faster than your 1st?

A lot of variables, things you can't know. I'd say definitely don't wait like it's your first, especially if #2 was faster.

Mine definitely were. 1st was LONG, 2nd had to be induced but delivery happened SOOO fast...my doc didn't make it and the in-hospital doc almost didn't make it. #3 was born an hour after we got to the hospital. My doc was in the hospital...didn't make it in the room I went from 6 cent to delivering in about 10 minutes. That poor, poor nurse has quite a story to tell!!!!

My total labor with baby #3 was about 1 1/2 hours. I delivered her within 12 minutes of getting into the hospital room. No time for drugs. Great delivery😊

You should call your doctor at first contraction! Don't race to the hospital just to be sent home.

My four deliveries went from turtle speed to, well, not far from light speed - about an hour and a half for that last one. But that was me. It doesn't happen that way with everybody.
