Oddest Stinky Thing You've Found?

I kept smelling something "poopy" when we walked in the door, but no other time. Yesterday, I decided to steam clean the carpets, so I pulled the steamer out of the hall closet (near the front door). Went to clean it out and come to find out, the last time I steamed, I didn't empty it! Stinky carpet water had been sitting for about a month! Yuck! It smelled like the smelliest poop ever!
Then tonight I found a sippy cup of VERY rotten milk in the playroom's horse stable. I keep a really straightened home, but sometimes I just find the nastiest stuff!
So, what have you found that completely grossed you out?

What can I do next?

One time, I kept smelling something horrible in the kitchen. I searched through cupboards, in drawers, under the liner of the trash can. For a few days, I would search. Then, I opened the microwave, where I had heated a bowl of brocolli and forgotten about it, for about 4 days.

Another was finding a bottle with rotten milk under my sons car seat - in the car - in the middle of a Texas summer. It had been there for about a week. Oh my car smelled HORRIBLE!

omg....ive been there, shampoo machine water smells like bad eggs!.

We had a snake (before we had kids) that got out and died one time, it died inside the wall (no idea how it got there) That was the worst smell ever, and ive witnessed the worst blood related, poop related maladies....dead reptile apparently tops them all

ETA....yeah potatoes are pretty bad too.........and since they can often be unused and forgotten i keep them in the fridge. Thats pretty high up there on awful smells.

I was cleaning my closet and found a cooked shrimp my dog obviously hid in my shoe. Yuck!

Later that year when we sold the condo to move to TX, I found Maggie's ( dog) treats of hot dog bites, usually laced with phenobarbital for her eplectic (sp) seizures in my shoes and throughout hidden spaces in my closet.

Wow, I'm lucky we did not have rats or something...

Dogs can be tricky about hiding treats!

Potatoes that had gotten shoved behind the drawer in the pantry (aka completely hidden unless drawer removed). Smelled like a corpse.

What's even BETTER, though, is that we'd JUST been given new garbage bins AND the garbage people went on strike. The potatoes went in one (that we were afraid to open, so we used the other can until it was full). When we opened the 2nd! Bam! Drunk!

They'd turned to vodka. In the hot sunlight I inhaled enough in one surprise gasp to blow a .23 twenty minutes later in our home breathalyzer. There went MY afternoon driving plans!!

Ok, so my husband needed a "brain in a jar" as a prop for a skit he was in, so he took some cauliflour, put it in a jar of gingerale, and presto -- brain in a jar. Then he left it in the car. Fast forward oh, about 6 months or so..... YUCK! It actually stank through the jar.

How about the rotting skeleton of a pet frog that had starved to death after being forgotten? More recently, a sippy cup of month old milk in the toy bin.

When I was in college I drove to Palm Springs to go on a weekend vacation with a boyfriend. I accidentally left an Odwalla protein drink on the passenger seat of my car. Well, my car sat in my boyfriends apartment complex parking lot in over 110 degree weather for 3 days. The protein drink exploded on the seat! It smelled like hot vomit. NASTY! I scrubbed and scrubbed but that poor little car never smelled the same... :-(

I was at catering school about 18 years ago and the day before summer break we got to clean up and empty all the cupboards and fridges in class. We were allowed to help ourselves to anything as it would just go in the trash. I took about 5 yogurts, put them in my bag, got home, threw my backpack in the hall closet and forgot about it for the whole summer!!! YIKES !!!! My mom nearly had a fit when she found what it was. :-(

I found a baby bottle behind my nightstand couple days ago, Lord knows how long it was there.

We went swimming couple weeks ago, and I threw all of our wet stuff in a bag in my car, forgot about it and it stayed out in the hot car for a couple days and was rank when I discovered it!

My daughter's TAG class had named red skinned potatoes, made clothes for them, written about them, and then brought them home. Found it on her desk half rotted, behind some other things she had piled up there...
