NFP Only Physician (Not OB)

I also would recommend Dr. Clint Leonard. I have personally worked with him (I'm a Certified Nurse Midwife)and was one of his supervisors during his residency at Maricopa Medical Center. This guy is a wonderful doctor who is Catholic and stands by his convictions. I'd highly recommend him! By the way, I'm with you on avoiding birth control pills. I never have been a fan of them. Recent research has linked them to breast cancer prior to age 50, but I doubt you'll ever see that study go public. R. Crocker, CNM since 1999 now SAHM of 3 yo and a newborn. Happily married 7 yrs.

I think Dr. Clint Leonard is wonderful and totally in-line with this approach. I went to him after my last OB office left a message on our home answering machine confirming the date/time for my planned(needed) c-section and asked(on the machine)if I would be liking a tubal ligation this time since this would be my fifth baby. I was so glad my children were not around to hear, especially my oldest who would have wondered, "what??"

I should add, at the time of my 5th child, we were familiar with NFP but not actively following method;-)
NFP is a successful method if followed.

I don't have any referrals, but I'll be checking back to see if you find one here!! Docs generally think we NFP-ers are nuts, LOL!!!!

I have referred patients to naturopaths or homeopaths and they can give you a saliva test to check your hormone levels and they can according to your levels, give you a sublingual natural plant driven based hormones that will help you so you don't have to take bcp... I hope this info helps or I am on track with answering your question properly..

I'm new to AZ so, I can not give you anyone's name unfortunately, but there are a lot of naturopaths in the area...

They dont prescribe BC...only NFP. (I pay a 25 dollar co pay to learn)

Consider attending classes geared towards learning this birth control. My husband and I took classes back when we were first married. Granted, it was to figure out how to get pregnant because we were having trouble - it worked the first month. Anyhow, our kids are spaced out nicely. We had tried reading and studying the method ourselves; however, having someone explain it to us made all the difference in the world. Dr. Clint Leonard, in Gilbert his office is called; Morningstar Obstetrics. He is very good and many of the catholic homeschoolers use him. He is well versed in NFP.
