Call the nurse on duty. If you get the answering service, say that you want to talk to the person on call, and someone will call you back. You can also always call your pharmacist. Don't put things on it if it's an open sore that might make it worse. I have no idea what "healing balm" is, what's in it, and what it's supposed to do or not do.
If this is an annoying itch more than a sore, perhaps a soothing soak would work, but it may also be made worse if she's itchy and trying to scratch it. You have to give some info to at least the nurse, and secondly the pharmacist, for suggestions.
Try to keep her hands away from it (I know, I know - that's not easy).
There are different over the counter products you could try, but it helps if you know what type of rash it is. I would call your doctor's office and speak with the nurse. A nurse might be able to help you over the phone and let you know what product is going to provide comfort and not make it worse.
If she is hurting so bad, why delay and make her wait to see a doctor? I'd go to Urgent Care or better yet, I'd take her to a Children's Hospital so they can take care of this. If it's an infection or something serious, the longer it is left untreated, the worse off she will be.
Welcome to mamapedia.
Why haven't you taken her to the pediatrician?
It would be helpful if you taught your daughter the REAL WORDS for things like vagina and such. It will help her tell you things in the future.
If it's in the middle of the night and the night nurse isn't available? Call the local ER and ask them for advice.
An oatmeal bath will help alleviate some pain.
If it's a blister? She could have the chicken pox - yep- you can even get pox in the vaginal area and anus. I've heard it really hurts. No personal experience with that.
Put A& D ointment on it or another type of ointment. Hopefully the doctor will be able to run a test and find out what it is. I'm sorry your daughter is in pain.
diaper rash cream? Hopefully by now you the doctor has given you good advice.
Hopefully the Dr can tell you something that will help. I know for anything like that I would use buttpaiste. I use it on any sores on not sons when they were little or even on myself.
