I probably shouldn't answer this since I don't live there but I THINK it's Euless, Bedford and the North Richland Hills areas. If I'm wrong, I'm sure somebody will set us straight! LOL
Not a stupid question! If I hadn't grown up in the mid-cities, I wouldn't have known, either. Technically the mid-cities are Hurst, Euless, and Bedford, but I have seen people include N Richland Hills in that as well. Now if I could only get someone to explain the concept of calling a freeway LBJ, but listing it on maps and streets signs as a numbered highway, I'd be doing good!
A.,
Don't feel dumb. It's Hurst, Euless, Bedford...HEB. :)

It's a term used by a lot of natives (like me) for the HEB area, but as others have said, it can include NRH, too. Richland Hills and Haltom City are too close to Ft. Worth to be really considered "mid" and Irving is too close to Dallas. I don't know if the term is used now as much as it used to be...seems like when Airport Freeway was first open back in the late 70's that was when you heard it a lot. We even had our own daily newspaper that fizzled out a long time ago.
Not a stupid question at all; there's lots of little quirks about this area that anyone who didn't grow up here might not know. Ask away--that's one thing about us; we're always ready to help!
Living it the mid cities it is Hurst, Euless, Bedord. More commonly reffered to as HEB. You could probably also include North Richland Hills (NRH) now as well
