J.K.
I would try CARE housing. They are across from Rocky High School. The apartment are nice and they are income based.
Come June I'll need a place to live for my son and myself. I fear that I can't afford a 2 bedroom here, and may have to move somewhere cheaper. I've heard that there are places here with income based rent. Can anyone help with info and/or good/bad reviews ? My job doesn't pay much, but I really don't want to leave.
Thanks to everyone who responded. I found out that I am eligible for low housing income, and will be going that route. Special thanks to Megan P. Cheers! :)

Hi M.,
You might also consider finding a one bedroom with a large closet -- I know of a couple of buildings where the closet is not connected to the bedroom. I've known a couple of single moms who gave their child the bedroom and took the closet themselves. It's nobody's ideal, but the benefits of living where you prefer the schools (as a possible example) may weigh out the downside if it takes awhile to find subsidized housing.
Another place you might contact is Project Self-Sufficiency. http://www.ps-s.org/ They help single parents with many different things.
I live in Care HOuseing. I love it. I have lived in fort collins for 4 years and started out a single mom of one also and needed something cheap. I have lived in care housing for 3 years and plan to stay till i can buy a house. Feel free to contact me for more information. They have 5 locations in fort collins to choose from i can tell you what ones are the best. Good luck
