Looking for Practice in the Keller Arethat Is Flexible with Vaccination Schedule

My children currently see Dr. Fricker at Kid Care Pediatrics. Although I really like him, the practice will not separate the MMR vaccination for me and I don't want to have to take my son to the health department to get it. Are their any practices in the area that will separate this vaccine and that you recommend? Thank you!

What can I do next?

Hi C.,

I went through this with my daughter in New Jersey. My family practitioner explained that she cannot purchase the vaccines separately without buying a case of each, which she couldn't afford to do. I found a compounding pharmacy that made the vaccines for me (thimiserol-free) and took them to her and she administered the shot.
I just did a google search and found these:

and

If you like your physician otherwise, you may want to talk to him about this possibility. He would have to write you a prescription for the vaccine, then you would have to pick it up. I suppose you could administer the shot yourself, but I let my pediatrician do the honors!

Good luck!
M.

Hopewell Pharmacy does separate the shots but there is a backlog. My son is autistic so I recommend you do lots of research on this hot topic before proceeding. Dr. Stephanie Cave (Baton Rouge, LA) has a book called What Your Doctor Won't Tell You About Vaccinations. It is an older book. I've heard Dr. Sears book is helpful too. You can wait or chose not to vaccinate at all. Dr. Deborah Bain (in Frisco maybe?) would probably be a good doctor to see. I don't know for sure but Dr. Claude Prestidge of Pediatric Associates of Dallas may be OK too. This is important, do your research and talk to moms on both sides of the issue. N.

dr nichols on 1709 let me hold off on mmr shots for as long as i wanted. he couldn't separate so i held off for over a year. he also told me that you can hold off on any vaccine as long as you fill out forms for the state stating you are aware of the laws and want to withhold, which i did. it was no big deal to him and he understood. so that may be an option if you can't find someone to separate.

Dr. Zwernemann at Southlake Family Medical. 1709 and Byron Nelson
When you call tell them why you want to see her.
They may say she's not taking new patients, but if you tell them because of the vaccine thing she'll probably take you.
That is what happened with me a couple of months ago.
She is vaccine friendly to spread them out.
